Rhys Alun White was born on July 5, 1981 at the Royal Gwent Hospital Newport. He attended Cefn Forrest Infants and Junior Schools and Blackwood Comprehensive School (1992-1997) then moving into Further Education at Crosskeys Tertiary College Coleg Gwent where he gained a National Diploma in Media.
After FE Rhys joined the international interdenominational Christian Charity Operation Mobilisation onboard one their two ships the Doulos. During the training period in the Netherlands and the subsequent travelling to join the ship Rhys slipped the disk in the lumber region of his spine. After six months of working onboard the ship, experiences of volcanos, earthquakes and beautiful beaches in locations from Papua New Guinea to Brunei Rhys left the ship for medical reasons.
Three months later he became the Assistant Administrator for the Charities UK Office Quinta in Oswestry, Shropshire. For the next 18 months Rhys administrated the charities vehicle fleet and medical insurance database among other day to day tasks.
After 18 months he left to study at Southampton Institute of Higher EducationSolent University where in 2004 he gained a 2:1 in Media with Cultural studies, his major was Photography for which he gained a 1st with a 73% mark.
Apart from studying Rhys spent two years as Evangelism Secretary and Co-Coordinator / President of the Christian Union. During those two years the CU held a mission with Ringwood based vicar Chris Sinkinson coming to take four sessions of a Chronological Bible Overview – seeing how the bible fits together chronologically.
After university Rhys moved to Oakwood, North London to join the staff of Thomas’s Church Oakwood. St Thomas is Bible teaching Church of England Church in the north London suburb with a mix of contemporary and traditional forms of worship. During his time at St Thomas’s Rhys was involved in all events in various forms and in the organization and planning of some. He remains a member of the church and an active leader of the 5-7’s after school group @tomix. During his time at St Thomas's Rhys also completed the Cornhill Training Coursea part of the Proclmation Trust.
Rhys currently plans to re-take his English and Mathematic GCSE’s to gain better grades and go into secondary teacher training.
