Rhythm of the Pride Lands is an audio CD released by The Walt Disney Company, a "sequel" to the original motion picture soundtrack of the animated film The Lion King. The CD featured songs and performances inspired by, but not featured in the film. Most of the tracks were composed by African composer Lebo M and focused primarily on the African influences of the film's original music, with most songs being sung either partially or entirely in various African languages. Several songs featured in the album would later have incarnations in other Lion King-oriented projects, such as the stage musical or the direct-to-video sequels, such as He Lives in You, which was also included among Disney's Greatest Hits Volume 3.

"Warthog Rhapsody", which delved deeper into the origins of Pumbaa than "Hakuna Matata" did, was originally recorded to be included in the movie, but was cut out during storyboard, and was never animated.

The initial release of the album included the following tracks:

  1. "He Lives in You" (Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, Lebo M) - Lebo M - (sample )
  2. "Hakuna Matata" (Elton John, Tim Rice) - Jimmy Cliff, Lebo M
  3. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" (George David Weiss, Luigi Creatore, Hugo Peretti, Solomon Linda (uncredited)) - Lebo M
  4. "Kube" (Caiphus Semenya) - Lebo M
  5. "Lea Halalela (Holy Land)" (Lebo M, Hans Zimmer) - Khululiwe Sithole - (sample )
  6. "It's Time" (Lebo M, John Van Tongeren, Jay Rifkin) - Lebo M
  7. "One By One" (Lebo M)- Lebo M
  8. "Warthog Rhapsody" (Elton John, Tim Rice) - Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella
  9. "Lala" (Lebo M, Hans Zimmer, Jay Rifkin) - Lebo M - (sample )
  10. "Busa" (Lebo M, Hans Zimmer, Jay Rifkin) - Lebo M
  11. "Noyana" (traditional) - Luyanda Jezile, Wendy Mseleku, Max Ngcobo, Lebo M

Rhythm of the Pride Lands was initially printed in a very limited quantity and therefore has since become a collector's item. However, it was re-released in 2003, included in some international versions of The Lion King's special edition soundtrack with an additional track:

  1. "Circle of Life" - Disney Channel Circle of Stars
