Rhino and Rat

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Before the creation of the infamous Crazy Frog, Jamba!'s mascots were Spike, a large fat blue rhino in thongs and water wings, and Smash, a white rat (both a.k.a. Rhino and Rat). They were introduced in the 2004 Jamba! advert "Rat Smasher" in which Spike stomped on Smash, who remained trapped under the dancing rhino's huge feet for the remainder of the ad.

Smash was later joined by other rats in the next advert "Smash Hit", including a Rastafarian rat called Lenny. They made Spike's deckchair collapse.

Their next appearance was a Wild West themed ad called "High Noon", where Spike, in the role of sheriff, was captured by the outlaw rat Smash and tied to a totem pole, where the rats dressed as "Red Indians" and tormented the terrified Rhino.

Their last appearance was at a nightclub, where the Rats (including a baby rat) tricked their way past Spike the bouncer. This advertisement saw the first appearance of Sweety the Chick.

Although Rhino and Rat are no longer seen on TV, they still appear as mobile downloads on the Jamba! website.
