The RG-33 is a mine-proof 6x6 light armoured vehicle made by Land Systems OMC in South Africa and the United States of America. It is based on the RG-31, which is already deployed worldwide with peace-keeping, security and combat forces.

On the 26 January, 2007, four (2 of each variant) RG-33s were delivered to the United States Marine Corps for testing and on the 14 February, an order for 90 RG-33s (15 4×4 and 75 6x×6) was placed under an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract.

The vehicle can be mission configured for a number of roles including Infantry Carrier, Ambulance, Command and Control, Convoy Escort and Explosive Ordnance Disposal
