RFA War Pathan

Royal Fleet Auxiliary oiler War Pathan which was built in 1919 and was originally managed by Andrew Weir. The ship weighed 5,581 Tons and 400 feet in length. In 1923 it was transferred to the Admiralty, London, 1936 to Royal Fleet Auxiliary, served throughout the Second World War before it was sold as a merchant vessel in 1947 to Bulk Storage Co (P.Bauer), London and renamed BasingBank, in 1948 to Basinghall Shipping Co. London and was scrapped in 1950 at Antwerp.

The name "Pathan" was given to this vessel was due to brave tribal nation of Pashtunsalso called as Pathans by British.
