[edit] Thank you!
Hello, Reyk, and thank you for vote on my recent RfA! With a final vote of 62/2/4, I have now been entrusted with the mop, bucket and keys. As I acclimate myself to my new tools, feel free to let me know how you believe I might be able to use them to help the project. Thanks again! RadioKirk talk to me 05:34, 6 May 2006 (UTC) |

Re: New Media Campaigns
I removed links. I'm a wikipedia novice and should've done more research on the policies. Sorry for the error. I thought it was more tech savvy with the links, but I was mistaken.
The links were ALL relevant, especially the Frogger one. I am reporting you to Wikipedia's adminstration. Christmas Frogger, according to Koingo is FREE, it's not a commcerial plug. [edit] WikiProject NBL
Hey Reyk
I am wondering if you would like to join WikiProject NBL. I believe that this is something that you might be able to help me with, by creating user boxes and player boxes for it or even adding articles about Players

- To be honest, I'm not really into basketball and I don't know enough about it to make a decent contribution. But thanks for stopping by, and I hope you find people to help you out. Reyk YO! 03:47, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for voting on my RfA
Thanks so much for voting!
Thanks so much for voting on my request for adminship. I have decided to withdraw my nomination as it seems that consensus will not be reached. If you voted in support, thanks for putting your trust in me to be a good admin. If you voted in opposition, thank you as well for your constructive criticism as it will only help me be a better Wikipedian and perhaps help if/when I apply for adminship again sometime in the future. |

[edit] My RFA
Hi Reyk,
Thank you for supporting my RFA! Unfortunately it did not succeed mainly because most opposers wanted me to spend more time on Wikipedia. Thank you for your faith in me & looking forward to your continued support in the future.
Cheers

[edit] Listcruft/songcruft
Hi, I noticed your input on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of songs with the word "song" in their title or lyrics and ask you to visit a new discussion I have started, User:DGX/listcruft, about similar articles. Thank you! DGX 22:12, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. I get annoyed by these endless lists of songs too. Reyk YO! 07:06, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 04:00, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi! I came across a test1 template you put on User:L33TGuy's userpage and moved it to his talk page as I gather that is what you intended (and I make the same mistake occasionally). Cheers. --Fuhghettaboutit 04:12, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:John robinson
Almost all new articles dumped here by John robinson (talk • contribs) deserve delete. He also added some plausibly looking info into articles Prostate and Dyscalculia. I have no chance to verify it but have uneasy feeling. Pavel Vozenilek 22:01, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well that's easy then. If it can't be verified, it should be removed. Reyk YO! 03:03, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Roosters fansay
Thank you for the explanation. I've been able to modify Roosters fansay and back it up with a season highlights feature, the difference being fans relay information to me first and I verify it according to the stats I have.
Thanks for the insight.Sbryce858 08:17, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Blnguyen's RfA
Hello Reyk. Thank you for your full support and gracious comment at my request for adminship which ended at the overwhelming and flattering result of (160/1/0), and leaves me in a position of having to live up to a high standard of community expectation. You can see me in action and observe what then happened as a result. If you need admin assistance, feel free to ask me. Naturally, if I make any procedural mistakes, feel free to point them out. I look forward to working with you in the future, hopefully as an admin. (As for Quasi-Hopf algebra and Quasi-bialgebra, I'm afraid they are almost irreparably technical and inaccessible to non-active pure mathematicians, as only a few books have been on these and they are usually seminar proceedings and the like :( )Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 02:43, 31 May 2006 (UTC) |
- No problemo. You deserve the admin powers. Reyk YO! 07:03, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] List of songs with a color word(s) in their names
Hi, I appreciate your point re this list, but it seems to me to be a pity to delete a page into which so much effort has gone (even though that effort might have been more useful elsewhere). So I'm asking editors if they can rethink and factor that in - I appreciate they may well reach the same conclusion even after a rethink :-) Dlyons493 Talk

[edit] User's (old) IP address
Is it possible to determine my IP address? I'd like to go back to the articles I edited prior to having a real username, and possibly update the credited IP-address to point to my current username. (Unless, of course, there are too many duplicate IPs).
- Loadmaster 22:40, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
I answered my own question. I tried logging out and then editing a page with the "~~" signature, to see what IP address showed up in the signature. As I expected, that particular IP address appears to be randomly assigned, so it has dozens of edit credits, which does me no good in tracking down my previous edits. Oh well.

[edit] Wikipedia Research Survey Request
Hello, I am a member of a research group at Palo Alto Research Center (formerly known as Xerox PARC) studying how conflicts occur and resolve on Wikipedia. Due to your experience in conflict resolution on Wikipedia (e.g., as a member of the Mediation Cabal) we’re extremely interested in your insights on this topic. We have a survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=400792384029 which we are inviting a few selected Wikipedians to participate in, and we would be extremely appreciative if you would take the time to complete it. As a token of our gratitude, we would like to present you with a PARC research star upon completion. Thank you for your time.

[edit] Fair use
Hi, Reyk. I noticed you included Image:South Park Xenu.jpg in a userbox in your userpage. Unfortunately, since image has fair use tag, using it outside the article namespace is not allowed per the fair use policy. See also: Wikipedia:Removal of fair use images#Fair use images on userboxes. Please replace it with a free image such as Image:Xenu space plane.jpg. Thanks. --Zoz (t) 16:48, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Contributions List
I've stolen your idea for listing my Wiki contributions on my user page. But this brings up a question: Is there a way (perhaps using a bot) to generate a list of all articles where some specified person is the initial contributor? Or perhaps there is some way to search/narrow the list on our my contributions page? Seems like this would be a useful info to have. — Loadmaster 14:36, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:RegHickey2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:RegHickey2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 07:51, 4 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Longhair\talk 07:51, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:RegHickey2.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:RegHickey2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Ultimate X-Men (story arcs): Peer Review
Greetings! In December of 2006, you participated in the discussion for the 2nd deletion nomination of Ultimate X-Men (story arcs). After two months of rewriting, reorganizing, and referencing, the article is now undergoing a WikiProject Comics peer review. Your editorial opinion would be most welcome to help us improve the article to A-class status. Thanks for your time! - fmmarianicolon | Talk 06:17, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
