[edit] Image Tagging Image:ShionSono-award.jpg
- Thank you for giving the source of the image. Since it came from a press kit, I've changed the tag to {{promotional}}. This tag is appropriate for most images from press kits, since the images remain copyrighted and thus are not free to use in any way (so in particular the {{CopyrightedFreeUse}} tag is not appropriate). Let me know if you have any questions. —Bkell (talk) 10:48, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
what is an R1 user? you can answer here and i'll check back.
-
- Oh, hey. By R1 user I meant movie viewers of the DVD region code 1 (those from North America and Bermuda). In the context of the Suicide Circle message, I meant that it has some stuff that would be hard to understand for people in those places, because suicide is not viewed the same way is it is here, in Japan, or in the United States. Cheers. --Roberto C. Guión 14:15, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cabas
Can be hard to assess any article between start and B class. The article is at least a good start, with good pictures, and as the artist is young can be said to include the majority of material needed for a completed article. For a B-class artice according to guidelines: 'A casual reader flipping through would feel that they generally understood the topic, but a serious student or researcher trying to use the material would have trouble doing so, or would risk error in derivative work.' Needs a lot of English language cleanup. also can be a bit hagiographic maybe need to include some critical perspectives. Keep it going. Tom 14:46, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message. Why don't you edit the spanish version of the article at http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andr%C3%A9s_Cabas? I'm surprised you haven't done this yet! There's also a French version you should look at if you can manage that language. For the english version it might be worth looking up the guidelines on referencing other language (in this case Spanish) sites, it would preferable to link to pages in english. I don't think there's any problems with things coming from the same page. Make sure you check copyright for the pictures and any other material you use. Tom 23:39, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] More about the SC template....
Now that you explained it, I see exactly what the problems are with the SC template - you tried to make a big template for a small topic. For example, Battle Royale has tons of characters, and also a number of spinoffs. SC only has two films (one of which isn't out yet) and a novel. The characters in the movie aren't explored very much at all. So, a small template like the Karate Kid one would have been good. Moreover, the BR template is unwieldy and looks awful; that template takes up a small article's worth of space. The whole point of wikilinks is that the reader can link directly to another article from within the article they are reading - putting a whole set of the same links in a template and not in the article defeats the whole purpose of having wikilinks.
Also, at least IMHO, linking to generalized topic areas in the template is bad, mainly because the casual reader of the article (in its current state) who may have not seen the film, won't understand how the generalized terms apply. As a note, I've seen SC, I own SC, and I don't see how some of those topics can be applied without violating WP:OR. It also makes the template look bad, because there seems to be no reason to have said articles listed there with no reference in the article. If the topics are covered, there should be a reference to it somewhere in the article, like a "themes" section, and a link to the general article (like "dysfunctional family") in the "See also" section - that's what it's there for. Hi Revoish,
Would it be possible that you upload the images from Sono Sion to commons (http://commons.wikimedia.org) ? So then we'll be allowed to use them on other wikipedia language. Thanks in advance. Benjamin.pineau 20:33, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Haikyo-userbox.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:Haikyo-userbox.png. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 15:14, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
