I added a section to this otherwise excellent article pointing out that the laws in the US do not govern terms like "extra virgin." As such, we end up with a lot of mislabeled oil on retail shelves.

By way of background, I co-founded the California Olive Oil Council in 1993 and was apparently the first person to import olive trees to the US in the 20th Century.
