[edit] Question

Regarding "indeed Gonzales, had gone to Taos to visit his family, was arrested in Santa Fe on Sept. 11, before Armijo's arrival on the 14th." This sentence should be clarified to give the year. Specifically, *Pedro Sánchez, English translation by Ray John de Aragón (1978 [original Spanish edition 1903]). Memorias Sobre la Vida del Presbítero Don Antonio José Martínez / Recollections of the Life of the Priest Don Antonio José Martínez. Lightning Tree. ISBN 0890160457. , which I have not cited yet, goes into detail about "The pretender governor, José Gonzales, finding himself defeated in the hills, without a people to govern, resolved to personally visit General Armijo . . . ." and then detaild Gonzales's execution in 1838. Salpointe, however places the end of the rebellion in January 1838. I think January seems too early, but a clarification of the time line would make the article read better. --Murcielago 02:21, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
