Revolutionary Cells (RZ)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

During the 1970's, Revolutionary Cells (RZ) was perhaps the most successful (based upon the number of attacks & the limited number of arrests) of the left-wing German terrorist organizations, although certainly not the most well known.

Different in group organization from the much more well known Baader-Meinhof Gang, they were very loosely organized into tight knit cells - making them much harder to track down and apprehend.

The group believed that their organization members should be regular members of society, again in contrast to the Baader-Meinhof Gang who believed that revolutionaries should truly be underground, or outside the system.

The group is assumed to have broken up and merged back into society after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
