[edit] User:Royk

Excuse me, but why the hell did you remove my userpage? User:Royk

I have not touched your user page, but the page you recently created was created as an encyclopedic article as Royk. This was deleted by an administrator but he was so kind that he moved it to User:Royk/userpage 2. Rettetast 19:08, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My RfA

Hey Rettetast,

I just would like to thank you for your support in my recent request for adminship, which passed with a final tally of 54/13/11. I appreciate the trust expressed by members of the community, and will do my best to uphold it.

Naturally, I am still becoming accustomed to using the new tools, so if you have suggestions or feedback, or need anything please let me know. - Gilliam 20:39, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks a lot!!!...

Nice to meet you. Thank you for your suggestion. nicky_008 00:24, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks it's something to do when I'm bored. I wish I could just delete some of the junk right away instead of tagging it and waiting for an admin to do it.--ChesterMarcol 22:12, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] No test

Why did you leave a message saying I was experimenting. You automatically changed my revert without a comment on the content. I did not insert a new fact. I reverted a fact which had been in place for a considerable period of time. It may be sensitive to some that sex was traded, but it should not be omitted. I note another person has now put in a citation to confirm it. It is an historical fact. Do not correct me unless there is something to correct. You made the change the same minute as I did. Check what happened before making a change. 60.226.76.41 11:34, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removal Of Sittingbourne Mill Website Link

Hello, I am new to wikipedia, and I was wondering why the link to the Sittingbourne Mill Website was removed. I put it on as with 300 years of paper making history, and in the early 20th centry it was the largest mill in the world, I thought it may be of some interest.

Any help in explaining why it was removed would be greatfully recieved. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Iandtaylor (talkcontribs) 23:25, 12 February 2007 (UTC).

Hello and sorry for the late answer. I was cleaning up a lot of vandalism to the article and may have removed something that was not y intention to remove. I really don't remember what my intentions was with the link removal. For what links that should be included in the articles you can look at WP:EL, or you can ask on the talk page of the article in question. I will not remove the link if you insert it again. Cheers. [edit] VegaDark's Request for Adminship

Rettetast

Thank you for supporting my RfA. It was successful at a unanimous 52/0/0. I hope I can live up to the kind words expressed of me there, and hope to now be more of an asset to the community with access to the tools. Please feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any suggestions for me in the future. Thanks again! VegaDark 07:16, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for showing me how to do that, I was having some trouble.

Sorry about leaving a speedy tag on a user-page - obviously a brainstorm! I have removed the speedy warning from his talk page. Again, my apologies. Bencherlite 18:26, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RfA thanks

Hi, Rettetast, I just wanted to thank you for your support on my RfA, which was successful with a final tally of 61/0/2. I'm honored at the trust the community has placed in me and hope my conduct as an administrator will justify that trust. If you have any comments about my use of the tools I would be glad to hear from you on my talk page. Thanks again! Heimstern Läufer 07:05, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Ok, sry, i was just having some fun.

How am I vandalizing Putnam City North page? I'm trying to correct. Some disgruntled douche is writing bad things about our student council. Please look into this.

[edit] User page vandalism

I would like to thank you for your quick actions in removing the vandalism on my user page. It is good to know that there are people that look out for other wikipedia users. Thanks! Shotmenot 09:39, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 205.222.248.12

Hi, I've noticed you've warned this today. I suggest you change the warning to a uw-vandalism4im. The Ip has a history of vandalism and blocks. Happy Editing by Snowolf(talk)CONCOI on 14:32, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

I do not agree. The Ip is shared in a school and it's likely that there is different vandals. I don't like vandals but i do not want to bite a newbie either. By the way. The IP has only 16 edits and two blocks. Thanks for telling me your opinion though. I always like that and happy editing to you to. Rettetast 14:38, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Troy Smith article

Hello, I noticed that you have removed the protection from the Troy Smith article and I wanted to ask that you do not do so. The article has been repeatedly vandalized (I have been babysitting it now for a while) with everything from opinion-based un-cited info, all the way to blatant racism. The protection was removed once already, not too long ago, and the same group of unregistered vandals came right back in and started messing about. I would appreciate it if, for the sake of keeping the article vandalism free, if you would leave the protection tag on. Thank you. Ryecatcher773 20:18, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello there. I removed the template, but I did not remove any protection. The article was not protected. Only administrators can protect and unprotect an article and you can request protection at WP:RFPP. Cheers Rettetast 20:43, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Leeroy Jenkins

Just curious, any particular reason why you removed the semi-protected state of the Leeroy Jenkins article? There has been several acts of IP vandalism on the article over the past few days. Modeps 20:52, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello there. I removed the template, but I did not remove any protection. The article was not protected. Rettetast 20:53, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
I guess I just did something wrong to protect it then, is there something other than using the sprotected tag that I would have need to have done differently? Modeps 16:20, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

No, my comment was not ment for your report but for the one above. I just misplaced it and later moved it. Rettetast 09:38, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Sorry to have bothered - I find the aiv page a bit scary it goes so quick at times and the edit conflicts impossible to avoid...cheers - thanks for reply SatuSuro 09:42, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Please see Tazmaniacs answer on Talk:Nijvel gang. I don't now much about this subject but your edit wasn't really encyclopedic was it? --Rettetast 08:52, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the comment! I apologise if my edit seemed partial. In actual fact, I am a Barbadian and can testify this is a quality often attributed to the Banks Breweries, just reckoned it would fit in there rather nicely. Appreciate the tip nonetheless.

Question: I used to contribute here quite often under the pseudonym 'Baje_Tiger.' The problem is I have been somehow locked out of my account; none of my passwords has been accepted. It was set to automatically log-in from my desktop but I have since moved and lost control of it. I can assure you that the account is indeed mine and is now inactive as a result. The account is still there and so I do not wish to start a new one, as it would mean relinquishing my status here as a fairly seasoned user and contributor. As I never registered with an e-mail address, I have no real means of regaining access.

I appreciate your assistance in this highly irregular situation.

I am sorry but don't think there is anything that can be done about that, but you could ask at WP:HELPDESK. Rettetast 20:12, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Question about Wikipedia Page "Wilton High School"

I protected this page because multiple people have been trying endlessly to add themselves to the notable alumni list. If what I did was inappropriate I would like an explanation why. I want you to understand that what I did was not vandalism... I am a neophyte to wikipedia editing and would have liked you to either mention the change on the "talk" page or on my user talk page. Without this step, it looks as though you completely dismissed what I was trying to accomplish whether you meant it or not. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rpgman456 (talkcontribs).

Hello. I am sorry that you feel that way but I did not think your edit was vandalism. I was just going trough all pages on the wikipedia with that template on, checking if the articles really was protected. You cant just protect an article by putting the template on the article and only administrators have the ability to protect articles. You can request protection at WP:RFPP but the vandalism has to be pretty bad before it is an alternative to protect an article. Cheers and again sorry. Rettetast 21:26, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] sorry

Sorry, I didn't read my mail until now. I didn't mean any harm. It's just that I have been a little absent-minded lately, but thank you for warning me. You deserve another barnstar but I forget how to reward users with stars.

[edit] Why?

Why have you removed protections from History of Croatia, Medieval Croatian state and Kingdom of Croatia? The protection there was for a reason (revert-warring) and now that you removed it without no explnation the revert-war continues. Tar-Elenion 11:28, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Since I am not not a sysop i cant and have not removed any protection. I only removed the template because there was no protection. Cheers. Rettetast 15:35, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My RfA

Thank you for your support in my my recent RfA in which I withdrew because the oppose votes were almost equalling the supporters. I then decided to leave my account (Tellyaddict) and start fresh under a new username, however I quickly decided to reconsider after another user persuaded me not to leave the account - I am now glad I did reconsider because leaving that account and creating a new one was too hasty so I've decided to improve rather than starting again! I hope we can remain civil and that there were no negative feelings caused. Again, thanks for your support even though I withdrew it, your vote is much appreciated! [edit] subst tags

Thanks for the tip about using {{subst:}}. Where did you see it? I learned about that weeks ago, but it's possible I goofed up somewhere. Cbdorsett 11:06, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

OOooooo. Ow. Ow. Ow ... Man. I can't tell you how many tags I've posted over the past month or two. Somehow I missed using "SUBST". What would you think of redoing Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace so that all of the cut-and-pastable links have the subst: prefix? I bet I'm not the only one that cuts and pastes from that page. Is there ever a need to put one of those tags without the prefix? I wouldn't mind doing the work - just let me know. It'd take my mind off of the 12-year-old vandal for a while. Cbdorsett 11:15, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks - I'll check it out some other day. I did read the stuff on the talk page Wikipedia talk:Template messages/User talk namespace and it seems way too complex. I left a couple of messages, and I'll just wait and see what happens. In the meantime, I'll see about those automated tools. Cbdorsett 11:33, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
