Return of the Crooklyn Dodgers is a single by the hip hop group, Crooklyn Dodgers, in its second incarnation made up of Chubb Rock, Jeru The Damaja, and O.C.. Like the group's first song, "Crooklyn", "Return..." was well received and subsequently became a classic in its own right.

The theme connecting the Crooklyn Dodgers songs, aside from the Spike Lee films which they were made for, is the topic matter, which tends to comment on the state of affairs in and around urban New York, as well as other issues affecting everyday life; as Jeru spouses "Chips that power nuclear bombs power my Sega". This song was produced by DJ Premier.

Little Brother producer 9th Wonder has stated that he plans to release the third song in the series, simply titled "Crooklyn Dodgers 3". This song will feature the line up of Mos Def, Memphis Bleek, and Jean Grae (once again, all residents of Brooklyn). It's unclear whether the song will be used in a motion picture like the first two, or included in a soundtrack, however it's likely to appear on Wonder's upcoming album Mr. Dream Merchant Vol. 2. Fans of the original songs have voiced their concerns over a possible departure from the film/soundtrack system, but the reaction to the news has brought about a lot of anticipation.

[edit] Music video

The video starts with a clip of Michael Jordan announcing that he is from Brooklyn as he swings a baseball bat. Then it cuts to a clip of Jackie Robinson playing baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Then it cuts to various pictures of black people as well as each of the rappers in their Brooklyn home.
