The reticulated swellshark, Cephaloscyllium fasciatum, is a catshark of the family Scyliorhinidae found in the western Pacific Ocean from Hainan Island to northwestern Australia between latitudes 21° N and 28° S, at depths of between 220 and 450 m. It grows to about 42 cm in length, and can expand its body by taking in air or water to make it appear larger to predators.
The reticulated swellshark is found in fairly deep water on or near the bottom on the outer continental shelf and uppermost slope.
Reproduction is oviparous.
Coloration is a pattern of very narrow lines forming open-centered saddles, blotches and reticulations on back and sides.
