Category:Retired Pacific typhoons

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

These Pacific typhoons all caused their name to be retired.

Typhoon names are retired due to the notoriety of the storm to which they are attached (after a nation impacted by the storm lobbies the World Meteorological Organization). Names retired before the 2000 season were from name lists used by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center. After during and after that season were from name lists used by the Japan Meteorological Agency. See naming of tropical cyclones.

This list does not include devastating storms from the 2005 Pacific typhoon season until they are retired after the next meeting of the WMO typhoon committee.
