Talk:Respiratory distress syndrome

[edit] Does this really need to be a disambiguation page?

Personally, I would only use "RDS" to refer to the neonatal form, and "ARDS" all the rest of time. Based on that, I would expect this page to redirect to infant respiratory distress syndrome (with clear crosslinking at the top of the page, of course). But perhaps other people think there's apt to be confusion?

The reason I'm bringing this up, by the way, is that I feel silly writing [[IRDS|RDS]] in the pediatric articles (and I don't think the acronym "iRDS" is really used at all). -- JVinocur 01:23, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Somewhat late, but hopefully not too late. My experience is that I have never heard anybody use another term than ARDS to describe this condition in adults. Of course, this is N=1, but still.Holland Nomen NescioGnothi seauton 10:22, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
