Reshma Aur Shera is a 1971 film directed by and starring Sunil Dutt and Waheeda Rehman in the title roles. The film also stars Vinod Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Raakhee and Amrish Puri in his Hindi film debut. Sunil Dutt's son Sanjay Dutt who was 12 years at the time appears briefly as a qawali singer.

Reshma (Waheeda Rehman) and Shera (Sunil Dutt) love each other in the midst of a violent feud between their clans. When their families find out about their relationship, Chotu (Amitabh Bachchan), Shera's mute sharp shooting brother carries out his father Sagat Singh (Jayant)'s orders to kill Reshma's father (K.N Singh) and her recently married brother Gopal (Ranjeet). Unable to bear the grief of Reshma's brother's widowed bride (Raakhee), Shera kills his own father believing he actually pulled the trigger. Trying to save Shera from grief and destructive madness, Reshma marries Chotu.
