Research!America is the nation's largest not-for-profit, membership-supported, public education and advocacy alliance dedicated to increasing public and private investment in medical and health research. Our more than 500 member organizations together represent 125 million Americans. All are leaders in the scientific and health communities and include universities, research institutions, business and industry, professional societies, voluntary health and trade organizations, patient advocacy groups, hospitals, economic development and other state-based groups, and foundations.
Research!America's mission is to make research to improve health a higher national priority and works to advance a favorable policy climate for the medical, health and scientific research. Research!America also advocates a legislative and regulatory environment that stimulates growth in industry research and development. Additionally, Research!America is a leader in advocating for increased investment in the National Institutes of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Research!America is also committed to growth in the research investment in the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the National Science Foundation.
Recently, Research!America established the Paul G. Rogers Society for Global Health Research to increase awareness of and advocate for a greater U.S. investment in global health research with a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
