Rescue from Cloud City/Hyperspace is from the Empire Strikes Back soundtrack, composed by John Williams.

The soundtrack is set after the duel, between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, until the Rebel fleet is shown. The following is the sequence that occurs and in the brackets are shown the individuals' time:

  • Darth Vader telling the truth about Luke Skywalker's father.(00:00-1:45)
  • Luke falling from the bridge, through the abyss and down the air vent.(1:46-3:13)
  • Luke calling Leia through the Force.(3:14-3:48)
  • Vader's departure (added in new versions).(3:49-3:57)
  • Rescue of Luke.(3:58-5:05)
  • Escaping from the Empire (also includes music of Vader and Luke's mind connections).(5:06-8:08)
  • The jump to hyperspace.(8:09-9:09)

  • The track is 9 minutes 9 seconds long and the third longest track of the album.
  • Some part of the track was used in Return of the Jedi when Lando finishes the Death Star.
