[edit] Lakes in Cat:Dams?
What is the difference between Category:Reservoirs and dams in Australia and the Lake subcategories, such as Category:Lakes of Queensland? Lake Moogerah and Lake Burragorang are examples of lakes that shows up in both of their respective categories, where as Lake Tinaroo, Lake Albert, New South Wales, Lake Eucumbene and Lake Cowal are only in one category but not both.
- Is this something that should be fixed? If so, which way is correct?
- Should all lakes be listed in the state lake categories and also in reservoirs and dams?
- Is there a definition of what should be in lakes and what should be in reservoirs and dams?
- Should all the individual state lake categories be in this category as well as Category:Lakes of Australia?

- After a bit of research I've come to the conclusion that man-made lakes should be in Category:Reservoirs and dams in Australia, whereas natural lakes should not. Does this make sense? Some Lakes will need to be moved in and out of the category, but I think that this might clean it up nicely. Any thoughts? - DavidMarsh 14:23, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

- I only just noticed this comment, but I agree with your conclusion that manmade are Reservoirs and dams, natural are lakes. If you want wider discussion, try either Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Australian places or the WP:AWNB. --Scott Davis Talk 11:58, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
