[edit] Condoleezza Rice article

  • I agree that the article is in poor shape. Its protected status is what brought me to the Talk page in the first place where, in my opinion, I was attacked unjustly. After I was drawn into the conflict which prompted article protection, I expressed my opinion on how best to reduce POV problems in the article. At that point, instead of criticizing my proposal, Francespeabody decided to launch a detailed personal attack based on his own prejudices and his utter misreading of my previous contributions to Wikipedia. This continued for two more rounds, with me suggesting we limit our conversation to the content of the article and he continuing to attack my background, before the RfC was initiated. My point in recounting this is that I don't think it will get us very far to defend Francespeabody's actions on the basis of the article itself, since he has shown continued unwillingness to work with other editors who would also like to see it improved. --Dystopos 12:25, 20 July 2006 (UTC) (link added 05:27, 25 July 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Wikipedia is not a web forum

This is a bit too informal for an "official" outside view, but it really does seem to me that Francespeabody is using the talk pages on these topics as a web forum, and getting pretty close to forum-trolling at that. He or she needs to stop ranting and work on building consensus. SB Johnny 21:24, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Reminding Frances of that precise fact was how I got involved in the first place. -Fsotrain09 21:37, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
