[edit] Week's grace
I want to note that the arbitration policy states "There is usually a grace period of one week between the opening of the case and the beginning of deliberations by Arbitrators." Although I brought this action I am amazed at how quickly it has progressed. Certainly the arbitrators may place the case into voting at any time they want to, but I do not think a week to allow for comment and reflection would do undue harm. - Particulary as I pointed before that WP:DR steps seem to have been grossly skipped: no mediation, RfC started at the same time as RfArb... this should not be here in the first place.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk 19:07, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- That is kind of my point as well. Whether an Rfc would have been beneficial is debatable, but I try to assume that a guy with so many edits and who is seeing the risk of deadminning staring him in the face, might wise up quick...but since the Rfc was essentially dropped before the community could weigh in, Darwinek wasn't able to see the forces that would have been surely lining up to tell him to make major changes or else.--MONGO 20:03, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] A thing to consider
Darwinek is the 24th largest contributor to this project. Thinking of banning such a prolific contributor for few uncivil remarks sounds like a joke, particulary considering how difficult it is to enforce WP:CIV against much more incivil and much less prolific editors. Darwinek extreme contributions should be taken into account when any decision is being made.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk 00:10, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
