[edit] Issues to be mediated

  • Worldtraveller is maintaining an essay named Wikipedia:Wikipedia is failing. Today, this article was linked to from slashdot. The essay makes several claims about the development of Wikipedia. These claims are based on obviously disingenuous statistics.

I have attempted to add critical material to the essay, and Worldtraveller has promptly removed that material. In the meanwhile, thousands of outsiders are being directed to this authoritative-sounding essay. My feeling is that Worldtraveller's essay violates WP:SOAPBOX and should be speedily deleted.

Worldtraveller should allow the addition of balanced, critical material to his essay. Failing that, the essay should be deleted as a WP:SOAPBOX.

[edit] Parties' agreement to mediate

All parties should sign below, indicating that they agree to mediate the issue. If any party fails to sign, or if a party indicates they do not agree, then the mediation will be rejected. Only signatures and "agree" or "disagree" should appear here; any comments will be removed.
  1. Agree. Heathhunnicutt 00:06, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
  2. Disagree. I have no idea why mediation would be necessary or what Heathhunicutt is hoping to achieve. But plenty of very useful discussion is taking place on the essay's talk page. If he engaged in that, that would be useful. Worldtraveller 00:23, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
