[edit] Statement by the mediator
This is the mediation page for the issues surrounding the Fethullah Gülen article. Before we begin, there are two important points that I like to make sure everyone understands in all mediations:
- I am here to mediate between all of you, not to arbitrate or to make decisions. My job isn't to look up the facts and say who is wrong and who is right. Rather, it is to try and separate out the different arguments, and see if there are ways we can meet in agreement on any of the different issues.
- Because the purpose of this mediation is to try and get the different parties to agree on as much as possible, it needs to be stressed that all discussion should remain as civil as possible.
Next, while I realize that much has been written in Talk:Fethullah Gülen, in the edit summaries, and quite probably on people's talk pages, in the interests of Fire fighting, I'd like to try and get all the relevent discussion on to this page, and to put a temporary freeze on discussing this topic on other talk pages.
Finally, while it ought to be obvious, I'd like to ask everyone to avoid edit warring over this topic while this mediation remains active. — Asbestos | Talk (RFC) 21:51, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Statements of dispute
Please try to summarize the general problem as you see it, and what you'd like to see achieved as a result of this mediation. Please try to keep this short (200-300 words) — the details can come later. If you agree with a statement, please endorse it, and feel free to edit the statement you agree with so that it best reflects the feelings of your side.

[edit] Points under dispute
Please list here the specific problems that are under dispute. Please keep each point as short and as neutral as possible — neutral enough that the individual points don't need to be signed.

[edit] Closure
It seems that the dispute has been resolved amicably without needing mediation after all. I am therefore closing this mediation. If any of the parties want to re-open mediation, please let me know on my talk page. — Asbestos | Talk (RFC) 19:02, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
