• IP/Millosh (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) is a Serbian shovinist who is trying to deny Croatian cultural heritage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molise_Slavic_language)!!! Your site is full of people like that as they enter any article considering Croatia, or Croatian language, culture, and hostory and trying to claims it for itself or trying to show Croatians an Nazis. It is just too much to bare... first the war after they attack us and now the cultural war. It is just not fair that to happen on this site. If that will continue, than I will find a group of stubborn Croatians and we will do dteh same to articles considering Serbs... than Wikipedia will be removed from the sites people go and reference to. Thank you. 24.215.183.102

  • I've added it to my watch list, for what it's worth (it's a very large watchlist, and I certainly don't see everything), but it seems to have stopped or slowed down for now and at least one other person is combatting it. Be sure to make liberal use of the test templates as described above. Jdavidb (talk) 20:09, 25 October 2005 (UTC)

This person is also accusing ABC and news organizations of covering up the exact dates and times of the non-existent television show. Remove some edits on WRTV and WTHR about the show, if I remove them, would that count as blanking?

What worries and confuses me is that according to the block log, Journalist blocked him for a week at 04:04 UTC, 15 October 2005, but according to Special:Contributions/70.29.3.3, he was still editing at 04:50 UTC. How is that possible? --Angr/tɔk tə mi 06:53, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

Nope, that's regularly done; it looks like he's stopped though. Ask for page protection should he return. --fvw* 07:38, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

  • HipHopHead88 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) together with 24.11.71.38 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) HipHopHead88 created an aparent hoax NauFal WaFFle and The Blue Album (NauFal WaFFle). 24.11.71.38 then vandalized the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/NauFal WaFFle. HipHopHead88 put in various links to these articles, and 24.11.71.38 restored them when removed. I don't know if other usernames/IPs are in play. This is an extra problem, since the wiki-links added to other articles, look plausible, so other editors don't notice them, and make changes on top of them. rob 10:45, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

  • Let me get this straight, this guy vandalized the wiki 16 (SIXTEEN) times since july, and you are not going to block his IP? Adidas
  • That's right. The point of a block isn't to be punitive, really, it's to discourage vandalism that is happening right then. Some of the problem with blocks of IP addresses, particularly dynamic IP's is that there is a large potential for collateral damage -- what if I blocked that IP for 48 hours and someone else who wasn't the person doing the vandalizing tried to edit Wikipedia, got discouraged and then we lost someone who could've been a good contributor? IP blocks are very sparsely given and usually for short periods of time (no more than 24 hours) because of this. If this IP starts vandalizing repeatedly I'll be glad to block. Beyond collateral damage issues, though, one or two vandalizing edits are annoying, but regular editors can deal with it themselves through reverting. It should only be reported here if it rises to a level that editors can't deal with, i.e., that it becomes disruptive. Best · Katefan0(scribble) 15:34, 5 October 2005 (UTC)

  • Please read the procedure for reporting vandals at the top of this page. Jdavidb talk • contribs 16:02, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

195.10.125.114 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 195.10.104.111 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 195.10.104.82 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 195.10.104.56 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 195.10.104.36 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 195.10.104.10 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 195.10.103.241 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 195.10.103.215 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 195.10.103.52 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 195.10.103.26 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) and also the range 213.137.30.99 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 213.137.30.67 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 213.137.30.64 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 213.137.30.62 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 213.137.30.17 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 213.137.30.11 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) 213.137.9.190 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log). I hope I have listed these correctly. Although the vandal seems to have some POV differences with me, and I have admitted that I was wrong on some issues, he/she has also removed categories, sourced quotations, links to foreign language wikipedias and information he/she finds uncomfortable (but which has been researched/sourced/referenced where necessary). He/she has also posted threatening messages to me. Bernard Moffatt, Mec Vannin, Celtic League (political organisation) seem to be those mainly vandalise. My previous comments can be found here with interaction with the vandal. I am not interested in a flame war, but his/her damage goes beyond mere POV problems. Poster seems angry and won't have rational discussion. I hope I have listed the multiple IPs correctly. --ImpartialCelt 18:57, 15 October 2005 (UTC)

  • Honestly and truly? That wasn't especially helpful. I realize you may be keeping track of these guys, but only one of them has actually edited in the past month! This page is for vandalism in progress. And the few edits in the past month still stand and have not been rolled back. Content disputes don't belong here; a hint is that when both of you think the other person is a "vandal," the answer is that neither of you is and both of you are involved in a content dispute and need to go through Wikipedia:Dispute resolution. If you're not happy with the existing edits which still stand, start by discussing on the article talk pages. Jdavidb talk • contribs 15:55, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

  • 202.180.83.6 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) -- Blanked the Shrimp Farm and replaces it with useless captions like "Shimps are Crustacean". Seemed to have done that with many other pages as well. Might not have been warned, but the occurence of his disruptive content is high enough to assume it is malevolent vandalism. 10:55, Oct 12, 2005 (EST)
  • Has gone on a rampage of vandalism today, including blanking a heap of pages related to space and astronomy. All edits have been reverted, and warnings posted in user talk page. Dupz 07:24, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
  • User is now blanking the talk page of the main page, and posting personal attacks on those reverting their edits. Dupz 07:33, 13 October 2005 (UTC)
  • IP address shared by several users including administrators, so it can only be blocked for short periods of time. Recent linkspamming. Will check on them again and apply warnings or short blocks if necessary. Jdavidb talk • contribs 15:28, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
  • 156.3.171.250 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) -- blanking and nonsense comments, also listed someone's phone number. About 4 edits per month. Seems to be from a Los Angeles area school computer. Has been blocked and warned after that. Two or three serious but short edits also done (add link, misspelling, etc): possibly a shared computer. • Uh, that last warning was in February. Stopped at 2005-10-27 18:38:45 (which was a productive edit, by the way). Next edit we really need to start all over with a test1. Jdavidb talk • contribs 15:22, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
  • 209.232.148.100 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) -- Vandalized a series of pages today, some with obscenities. Previously did about 30 reverts on the Wikipedia Intro page. • Sorry we haven't been able to get to this before. There are a lot of vandal reporters and at most points in time only few vandal-fighting admins. :) FF edits seem to have stopped, but still making destructive (clueless newbie?) edits at 2005-10-31 16:57:20. • Stopped after those three edits. You're supposed to verify that vandalism is continuing before reporting on this page. You're also supposed to sign your report. The fact that a vandal once used ethnic slurs or vulgar words for sexual anatomy does not automatically mean that this is a guy we "better keep an eye on." It doesn't somehow magically make the vandal report more serious, especially if the guy's already been reverted, only affected a few articles, and stopped before you even reported him. • 220.245.180.130 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) at least a dozen incidents in last week or so. Has been warned twice plus twice for "tests". Creates/re-creates junk articles (Chris is cool, Paul Patty), blanked the Wikipedia article [11], and list of contribs shows almost all in last week to be vandalism. Many previous blocks. MCB 19:24, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
Hmm, interesting. Appears to be a shared proxy server; I won't block just yet since this user appears to have stopped for the last 12h or so. Also, if you look carefully you can see a few legitimate edits scattered amongst the vandalism, which would suggest the possibility of multiple users of this particular IP. Since this user appears to be in abeyance in terms of vandalism for the time being, I won't block unless the user resumes vandalism, but have left a test4 message. --NicholasTurnbull | (talk) (e-mail) (cabal) 20:31, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
User has, since the test4 warning, vandalized Joseph Stalin three times [12] [13] [14], and pasted garbage on his/her talk page three times in place of the {sharedIP} message. (There have also been several legitimate edits during the time period.) MCB 07:08, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
Since the 24-block, one edit with very minor vandalism to Rove McManus [15], which he/she has edited twice before [16] [17] in exactly the same way (adding quotes to the word "comedian" referring to article subject). In theory you could consider that a content issue, but I do not believe user is editing in good faith. MCB 06:07, 11 October 2005 (UTC)

  • Blocked one week at 2005-10-18 05:18:41 by Lucky 6.9. Couple of edits since then imply user may be User:Das Nerd or at least have an interest in that user. Last edited at 2005-10-28 21:40:41. Jdavidb talk • contribs 00:11, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
  • 86.135.33.229 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) is repeatedly removing links he/she does not agree with from the Co-counselling article. This probably isn't the best place to report this as its more censorship than vandalism, but I wasn't sure where else to place this alert. They gave their reason on the talk page, but despite a reasoned reply asking them not to do it they are continuing without further discussion. quercus robur 09:59, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
