[edit] Statement of the dispute

Since returning from a three-day suspension for adding nonsense (see this section), Randall immediately returned by posting nonsense. Some of it, including his first article since the end of the suspension (KCHZ) contained a random rabbling of the station's recent format change that was later wikified and stubbed. Some pages were later deleted, including a page for FM station KDVV, which was deemed an advertisement. I have left messages on his talk page, advising him to put further research and thought into future submissions.

Yesterday, Randall proceeded to add three stations to the page Broadcast Media in Kansas City that I felt did not belong in the Kansas City area. After deleting stations KDVV Topeka, KMXD Des Moines (Iowa), and WWWM Toledo (Ohio), two of them (KDVV and KMXD) reappeared. Upon another delete, I posted evidence on the article discussion page showing how neither could be considered. Earlier today while driving around Clay County, Missouri, I found that KDVV reaches as far as my home in the northeast metro and added it back. Randall, however, proceeded to add KMXD back to the list and make a couple formatting changes (preferring La Monte, MO without La Monte, Missouri in front of the wiki link and no substitute text for Topeka, Kansas, despite other city of license listings being "City, ST.")

I have attempted to inform Randall of these oddities with comments on his talk page, but as a result, my User page was vandalized thrice by him. Also, he has returned to random editing, making changes to That '70s Show (adding "K-Jo" to refer to a radio program in the area), Rugrats, SpongeBob SquarePants, and twice added "Years Archive 1963-Present" to the Compact audio cassette article. In addition, he has uploaded a MSPaint ripoff of the FX Networks logo and claimed it is now their current logo on the article page. (He was blocked in October for a similar situation, see User_talk:Randallrobinstine#Image:Nintendo.png)

Earlier this evening, as he has making vandal-esque changes to the articles Rugrats et al, I listed him as a Vandal in Progress. I feel that he needs a few days off (there's a snow storm anticipated for this weekend in the area - ought to be perfect for snowball fights) and then some mentoring. He had made some useful contributions, including adding previous affiliation information to KMBC-TV and kickstarting two more KC Radio Station articles (KQRC and KCMO-FM).

Respectfully submitted, --KHill-LTown 05:41, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Synopsis of behavior

As of this post, Randall is in the midst of a week-long suspension for repeated vandalism.

  • Edits that make little to no sense as follows:
Addition of KCHZ Article
Addition of low-quality FX Networks Logo Mock-up
The "Years Archive" addition to the Compact Audio Cassette article
  • When asked about edits, he resorts to vandalism, as follows:
Suddenly I'm a geriatric user born in St. Joseph
Some have been odd, including changing titles of this show to reflect a radio program in the area
In response to a ban, he copy and pasted the ban notice to the user page of the admin who blocked him... and signed it himself.
He has been banned four times, the current suspension one week for repeated vandalism to That '70s Show and User_Talk:OwenX.
  • However, he has made a couple helpful contributions.
Added information regarding the format change of an AM station in Kansas City
Added information to infobox regarding KMBC's short-lived CBS affiliation
Despite his one-line seemingly incoherent additions, created articles for KKJO and KMXV (as anonymous user; signature "thank you" is similar to his signed edits), KCHZ,KQRC, and KCMO-FM (original article was deleted before cleanup was completed), as well as KMXD in Des Moines.

Please be advised that I, KHill-LTown, added this at around 10:20 PM Central Standard Time on 20 December 2005.

[edit] Comment from OnceBitten

Having reviewed the items stated in the RfC I can understand the supporters frustration with user: Randallrobinstine's edits. They seldom seem to make logical sense, and they really don't add to the knowledge base so much as they distract from the article itself.

As for the format of this RfC, I think that the RfC could be better organized with the examples of behavior bulleted, etc. This would not only make easier for outside people to navigate through the RfC, but would be a cleaner format, one that would hopefully allow user: Randallrobinstine a very clear outline for their rebuttle.
