[edit] Outstanding requests

[edit] Ikedanobuo

  • Code letter: G

This spins out of tag removals and WP:POINT violations on Asahi Shimbun relating to the comfort women article. DDRG is trying to call the paper unreliable (which simply isn't possible) in the scope of its coverage in 1991 regarding comfort women (so it can't be used in the article), and he vaguely cites some things that can't be found in order to shore up his case. User:DDRG references two people Seiji Yoshida and Ikuhiko Hata who have recent WP articles created by User:Amazonjoke (those being thew only things this user did), and apparently all of this spins out of something on User:Ikedanobuo's off-wiki blog, though the wiki user may not be the Wiki user, of course. [edit] Wiki Raja

  • Code letter: F

Indrancroos and Wiki Raja have both signed edits made by 68.108.208.158.

04:24, 23 March 2007 Wiki Raja

06:32, February 13, 2007 68.108.208.158
06:36, February 13, 2007 Wiki Raja

Both share the same Tamil nationalist worldview.

A 3 month block was imposed on Indrancroos for vandalism at the end of September 2006.

Wiki Raja has been editing since the end of September 2006.

Using Wiki Raja as a sock puppet/reincarnation, the user editing from 68.108.208.158 has managed to avoid serving a single day of his 3 month block. SiflOlly 11:50, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Additional information needed Per F, could you provide a diff of the community ban? The 3 month block starting last September is not a ban. -- lucasbfr talk 12:42, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
If not "F," then what is the appropriate code letter for evasion of a block? SiflOlly 12:51, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Shuppiluliuma

  • Code letter: F (evasion of community ban)

Shuppiluliuma, known also as DragutBarbarossa and CalicoJackRackham (talk contribs), was indefbloced and community banned (here) for a number of incidents, involving edit-warring, personal attacks, block evasion, but above all the repeated uploading of a large number of unfree images. These come from a photo site, wowturkey.com, which he claims he manages, and the copyrights belong to the various photographers, who he claims are his friends. He claimed the photographers gave him permission to upload the images under free licenses, but could never present evidence of this. After one of his latest blocks and the deletion of a number of images, several apparent sock accounts appeared under the name of the photographers and re-uploaded the images as "self-made".

The identity of Shuppiluliuma with his main socks is not in doubt. This includes "7th Son of a 7th Son" and "Asım Kazancıgil", they are essentially self-declared ([1], [2]) and can be blocked on sight. What I would like clarified is the identity of the suspected impersonation accounts used to circumvent image policy: KeremTuncay, Faruk Koçak, and Hakan Noyan.

Fut.Perf. 05:40, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

P.S.: Please cancel this request, it's no longer needed. I now found the latest sock self-declared that the impersonation accounts are socks: [3] "Resimler için bundan böyle arkadaşlarımın adıyla birinci kişi yüklemelerinde bulunacağım ki bir daha silemesinler", translation: "As for the images, I'll be speaking in the first person under the names of my friends, so they won't be deleted again". That's as clear as it gets. Fut.Perf. 05:55, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 3GPP guru

  • Code letter: C.

Ongoing pattern of link spam vandalism. User continues to switch IP's after warnings have been issued, thus avoiding block. See [4], [5], and [6], for just one example. Contrib history of all four ID's accounts for 25+ vandal edits over past 2 weeks. Thank you, Satori Son 21:18, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] SqueakBox

  • Code letter: E.

Users only edits are reverting the Gary Glitter to a version against goes against clear consensus on the talkpage. The same version SqueakBox has been reverting to.

DXRAW 21:39, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

I would welcome a checkuser on this case. I live in Latin America and use a small ISP and think it unlikely that Greatgallsoffire (who says he or she is a British IT worker) is located anywhere near where I am. He or she has nothing to do with me, SqueakBox 18:18, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Prince Godfather

Editing many of the same pages as Prince Godfather (and Prin, the original puppeteer) with a similar style. See [7] for block discussion resulting from OTRS fraud. --Yamla 22:46, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

This is listed as a non-compliant request. I believe I have provided the link for the ban discussion related to OTRS fraud. What else am I missing? --Yamla 21:53, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Removed IP address so that privacy policy is not violated. --Yamla 20:05, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] USMC Padre

  • Code letter: G

Tag-team editing on Gordon James Klingenschmitt. Accounts were opened near each other temporally, all echo each other in attacking the subject of the article, and have been involved in serious WP:BLP violations (see [8], [9], [10], [11], [12]). All appear to be single-purpose accounts used largely or exclusively on the Gordon James Klingenschmitt article. MastCell Talk 18:05, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Declined The Uninvited Co., Inc. 18:41, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

I would strongly urge that a CheckUser be carried out seeing as we had to call in Oversight to redact edits revealing Mr. Klingenschmitt's credit card details at Gordon James Klingenschmitt which were made by:

--  Netsnipe  ►  19:54, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

I would also urge reconsideration of this request. The Klingenschmitt article has been the subject of serious problems leading to a highly contentious and problematic BLP situation and deletion. See generally Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gordon James Klingenschmitt. The matter cannot be considered resolved as the article was deleted without prejudice to re-creation in a BLP-compliant version and what constitutes BLP compliance in this case is likely to be controversial. There have also been allegations (which I do not necessarily credit) concerning the role of Rev. Klingenschmitt himself in allegedly editing this article under multiple accounts. Rev. Klingenschmitt edits under his own name as Klingeng (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser). Newyorkbrad 19:03, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Clerk note: relisted to pending, per new request -- lucasbfr talk 18:58, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] R9tgokunks

  • Code letter: C (serious pattern of sneaky vandalism by throwaway socks, while socketmaster maintains a facade of respectability)

There has been a series of throwaway accounts, clearly of the same user, whose contributions present a unique mixture of seemingly good-faith (though misguided/confused) edits, some edits apparently sneaky vandalism, some downright nonsensical, and some blatant attacks and other forms of disruption. Most of these accounts have been blocked and they are easy to spot. However, the suspected sockpuppeter, R9tgokunks (talk contribs), is a bit more difficult to link to this series of socks. He maintains a façade of respectability, for the most part making good-faith edits, though they are often aggressive, misguided and/or POV-pushing.

Nevertheless, I believe R9tgokunks can conclusively be linked to the sock series, by a couple of striking similarities in their editing profile. These are too special to be coincidental:

Common interests linking R9tgokunks with the sock army
sneaky vandalism by socks
other disruption, attacks, nonsense edits, etc.
Admissions of vandalism, intentional disruption

I already have additional evidence in the form of temporal editing patterns, which I believe is almost conclusive enough to warrant a block on the sockmaster, but since we might be dealing with the need for an indef ban here, I'd appreciate confirmation by checkuser before I take action. Fut.Perf. 19:59, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Venki123

  • Code letter: C

Repeated vandalism of Mudaliar and Sengunthar articles over the past few months. I furnish some of the vandalised diffs beside the above ips/users. Venki123 (talk contribs) has been constantly deleting and trashing heavily referenced sections. I suggest a block on the ips and this user. Could you check and say if any of the users are socket puppets of Venki123 (talk contribs) or if any of the ips are related to Venki123 (talk contribs)? Thanks. Mudaliar 14:05, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Clerk note: I have removed the IP addresses because the privacy policy prevents checkusers from commenting on them. PTO 14:16, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GrayToday

  • Code letter: F

Another day, another Panairjdde/Kwame Nkrumah sock. User:GrayToday is the latest, and I'm sure another will pop up after this one is blocked. Dppowell 15:15, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Now User:TermsThey, too. Dppowell 17:47, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

...and User:BriefExact. Dppowell 00:27, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Other admins have blocked these socks (as well as an additional one, User:BirdsCover) since I filed the RFCU, but I would request that the CheckUser process be formally completed in the interest of expanding the documentation of abuse. Dppowell 16:34, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
User:GuideEggs is the latest. Dppowell 02:09, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm not nearly as sure about User:Rasiel, but the types of edits and subject areas are similar. Dppowell 02:24, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Requests for IP check

  • Vandal and attack accounts may be listed here for the purpose identifying and blocking the underlying IP address or open proxy. Requests to confirm sockpuppets of known users should be listed in the sockpuppet section above.
  • If you already know the IP address of the suspected open proxy, list it at Wikipedia:Open Proxies instead.
  • Use === Subsections ===, do not create subpages.
  • List user names using the {{checkuser|username}} template. Add new reports to the top of the section.
  • Requests may be acted on or declined according to the discretion of the checkuser admins. Responses will be noted here.
  • Answered requests will be moved to Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/IP check/Archive for 7 days, after which they will be deleted. No separate archive (other than the page history) will be maintained.

[edit] TJ Spike sock mini-farm

This guy just won't go away. He keep creating sockpuppets, claiming that User:TJ Spyke is a moron and edit warring on articles. Even with ACB and autoblock on he just keeps making more socks. Please fry him. --Deskana (talk) 23:12, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Would appreciate checkuser confirmation that these accounts are related, though I arrived at this conclusion based on the edit histories (particularly, insertion of inappropriate links, editing the same articles, similar personal attacks against the same users, etc.) independently already. --Yamla 14:03, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
These 2 users are also exhibiting the same edit patterns as those above, they look like throwaway accounts:

[edit] Hinomaru

The user Hinomaru has constantly been creating sock puppet accounts since October 2006 to continue vandalise Wikipedia. There are currently 111 socks:

    • Code letter: A

I've been chasing after his socks since a month or so and have observed his strongly malicious technique: he creates a bunch of sock accounts, and begins using them only a few weeks after. His vandalism concerns mainly Asian non-Japanese related article. It consists in deleting a fragment of sentence in the articles while hiding the entire page's contents in comment tags, and putting a picture of the Japanese flag (hinomaru) at the top instead. This is especially malicious because if people don't undo the edit correctly (i.e. if they just remove the picture and the comment tag instead of reverting), there would still be a fragment of sentence missing in the middle of the article.

When his vandalism is noticed and his accounts blocked, he doesn't lose any time because he always has a few sock accounts created weeks before: he just continues to vandalise with these sock accounts while his others are being blocked.

This is the same pattern since (at least) October 2006; Hinomaru has created 111 socks and shows no sign of getting tired. Something has to be done, please! Kariteh 14:35, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Turok 1

Numbered Turok accounts are all sock puppets in addition to the names below:

Massive and still continuing sockwar. He gets banned, he's back in five minutes with a new name and vandalising the same stuff as before.

Note: I've added Turok 29 to the above list. User keeps rapidly creating sockpuppets. Michaelas10Respect my authoritah 18:09, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
Note: Added Turoks 30-33. More sockpuppets still incoming. AOL IP usage suspected as per User_talk:Persian_Poet_Gal/Archive6#More_Turok_stuff. —210physicq (c) 22:26, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Burnsvillemike

The story starts here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mike_Satter where three (identical) deleted articles on Mike Satter were recreated. This disclosed a web of socks - see the text. The theme has been the injection of Satter into a wide range of law enforcement articles, replacement of images with ones of Satter, creation and recreation of copyright images (some of which have been hanging around on C:CSD for a long time awaiting deletion). Burnsvillemike (talk contribs) has been blocked for a week here and most of the socks on that page were banned indefinitely. User:Seraphimblade is doing a great job. However, as you will see from User talk:Seraphimblade#User:Burnsvillemike the socks are multiplying faster than I can track them down. I think that some decisive action is needed on the IP(s} being used. Bridgeplayer 02:36, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Clerk note: Moved from Wikipedia:Request for checkuser/Case/Burnsvillemike. Real96 06:24, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
  • It would be helpful if some urgent action can be taken since the socks are breeding faster than they can be blocked - four more added today. Bridgeplayer 18:34, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] However whatever

User However whatever (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) is being very aggressive and miltant on BLP related issues on William Oefelein. To the point that others are routinely reverting him, and he is endless edit warring over the inclusion of specific words... he was also 3rr blocked, and has another 3rr report pending at this moment, on the heels of the last. As seen in his entire history here, he is a SPA for this one article. Similar matching edits were done weeks ago by Banana Republic (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log), as seen here and here and here. Baba gump (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) is the same again--matching edits, as seen in the full history here, and all three seem to have the identical vindictive bent towards Gwen Gale (talk contribs) who has religiously tried to keep the lurid mess that is the Lisa Nowak and Oefelein story... compliant with common sense and our BLP rules. the user Baba gump does the same sorts of edits. I believe all three are one and the same. they push the same agenda at the Nowak/Oefelein articles, and all are ready to throw verbal punches at anyone that counters them in the same sort of language. Thanks, - Denny 04:18, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

All I can meaningfully add to that is he uses the same distinctive double dash (--) before all three user sigs. Gwen Gale 04:36, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
I agree that they seem to be the same user. Although to be fair about the dashes, that is what you get when you click on the signature button in the editor.--HarryHenryGebel 05:10, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Ok, still, it's a common thread, along with the two word usernames, empty main userpages and so on... Gwen Gale 05:23, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Gwen, I totally agree with you that they seem to be the same person based on all of the other evidence, I was just pointing out that the double dash is pretty common. --HarryHenryGebel 15:06, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
I knew that's what you meant, thanks. Meanwhile I was only "thinking aloud" there, mulling it all over after learning the sig button does that (haha!) :) Gwen Gale 15:16, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Additional info, where However whatever inexplicably is linking back to a comment on Gwen's page, here, which was a response to this comment by Baba here. - Denny 04:50, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Clerk note: Moved from Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Case/However_whatever. Real96 05:05, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Can I ask why? Just curious what procedure/info shows it to be an IP issue instead of a regular CU. - Denny 05:10, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Per A, IPs checks must be listed below in the IP section. Cheers! Real96
I guess cuz they look for the same IP and block it if there's a match? Gwen Gale 05:23, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Got it, sorry for being dense last night. - Denny 12:05, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Eternal Pinkish

Hoping I could get some help on this one. This particular troll has been a very persistent problem, for over a month or more -- issuing death threats and harassing users. Tried mass protection, tried blocking. Have already rangeblocked BT-AOL's 81.145.x.x addresses as a bit of a last ditch effort (not quite a /16, but looks like one at first glance). ISP hasn't yet been responsive to abuse reports. This one cropped up, today -- are they working out of the 81.145.x.xs range, still? Or some other address? If so, any sleepers to worry about? Supporting diffs: [61] [62] [63] [64] [65] [66] (and plenty more if you need 'em). Thanks in advance for any support you may be able to provide. – Luna Santin (talk) 01:38, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Darkhero seems to be Eternal Pink's real-life friend, so it's not impossible. And Pink himself edits in a weirdly consistent pattern, in between the edits of the various vandals. I am hoping this is coincidence... --Masamage 16:39, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Very strange edit for a first-time edit. Likely sockpuppet or meatpuppet of Terminator III who has a host of other sockpuppets. It might be difficult to tell, but let's see.. --Hamsacharya dan 23:27, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Clerk note: The account, Terminator III (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser) made its most recent edit on 24 Jan 2007, which is too old to check.[67] --Michael Billington (talkcontribs) 00:02, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Can you try these two accounts just added? Hamsacharya duh and Akal Purakh. Thanks. --Hamsacharya dan 00:34, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Clerk note: Hamsacharya duh's last edit was even earlier, (Jan 19). Akal Purakh edited most recently on Jan 30, which is still too far back.
