[edit] Irate

  • Code letter: B

Appears to be using User:Idris Ginger Beer. Edits in same area (Merseyside). Has been editing on the same pages as several anon ips which were identified as Irate. Recent comments sound very similar. [1] MRSCTalk 09:32, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Further evidence of refusing to accept sources and accusations of vandalism (typical Irate style): [2] [3] MRSCTalk 15:46, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Confirmed. Dmcdevit·t 07:17, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RunningMan

User:Irate was banned indefinitely by Jimbo Wales in August 2005. Since then he has returned under a number of new usernames before being discovered. User:RunningMan appears to be the latest of these, displaying the same traits as the others. For example:

  • Getting involved in edit wars on controversial topics, such as Harry Stanley. (Compare with User:IanDavies's contributions at Talk:Traditional counties of England.) This time, it resulted in him describing User:Dibble999 (who is a police officer) as a member of a "violent criminal gang" [4].
  • A tendency to make personal attacks. (This time on User:Dibble999: see here and here.
  • Curious interpretations of what is meant by "vandalism". For instance, he removed a message from his talk page [5], which was a polite request to stop personal attacks. Compare with here or here, for instance.
  • A large proportion of edits are to articles about Liverpool and the surrounding area. Some of them are to articles which (other than stub sorting, categorising, copyediting, etc.) only Irate etc. has contributed to (e.g. St John's Gardens).
  • The slightly cryptic content of the user pages, each in a similar vein.

Are there any recently identified sockpuppets? Essjay (TalkConnect) 13:20, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
The bottom of this page from David Gerard's user log shows the last few to be blocked by him (he has dealt with this user several times in the past); other admins may have blocked others since. I've also seen a lot of this user, and agree that the editing pattern is stunningly similar. Aquilina 15:10, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
Is further evidence required? Aquilina 15:17, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Inconclusive. Essjay (TalkConnect) 08:37, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ian Davies Friend (talk contribs), Ian davies friend (talk contribs), HECTOR (talk contribs)

These are likely sockpuppets of indefinitely banned user Irate (talk contribs). IanDavies (talk contribs) was already banned for being his sockpuppet. Ban evasion is listed as a legitimate reason for a CheckUser request. Declined. Please don't list obvious cases; if the IanDavies block is a settled matter then the "friend" accounts and "HECTOR" can be blocked as well. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 13:49, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Irate

Poss sockpuppets of indefinitely banned user Irate (talk contribs) aka IanDavies (talk contribs)

Irate (talk contribs) is indefinitely banned, and IanDavies (talk contribs) is indefinitely banned for being his sockpuppet. Now we have Ian Davies Friend (talk contribs) - that seems like one strange username for someone who is not Ian Davies to choose to me, but perhaps I'm wrong. — ciphergoth 00:50, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Update: he has now created another user: Ian davies friend (talk contribs). — ciphergoth 21:06, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
Update: another user HECTOR (talk contribs) has turned up with a very similar editing style.
