[edit] Foo12

  • Code letter: A

Meh, where do I begin? The other night, "Foo12" must've seen something I left on an article talk page, most likely Talk:Wii, but it could've been elsewhere and he followed me over there -- I have no way of knowing for sure. Anyway, the user made conversation with me (on my talk page), stating he was new, needed someone to show him the ropes, and so on. I tried to assist him with the (mounds of) basic questions he had. Fair enough, right?

Well, this user definitely has some very peculiar habits, or so it seems. I believe he vandalizes pages anonymously -- or perhaps even with other accounts. He then logs in to "fix" them (but more often than not, compounds the situation by typing in all caps next to the vandalism, to chew someone out) with his primary account.

Vandalism seems to follow "Foo12" everywhere he goes. The creation of his talkpage itself was a vandal edit[1] -- how many users statistically get their talkpages vandalized right after their account is created? A different IP in the same range later vandalized his talkpage again[2], as well as mine[3]... especially note the edit summary for the anonymous vandalism to my talk page, and compare it to Foo12's edit summaries here... the similarities are striking.

Also, the Wii page was vandalized shortly after he showed up there (these were the edits by "Da-da-belanova-da-da"), and he began complaining about not being able to edit the page to fix it, since his account wasn't three days old yet (the Wii article had been semi-protected).

I believe "Foo12" is also trying to pester people. He has left cryptic and confusing talk comments for many individuals he found on my own talk page. He's also placed what are intended to be talkpage vandalism warnings onto articles themselves[4], without bothering to correct his mistakes. He asked me how to become part of VandalProof, and is very eager to "raise his ranking" so as to get his hands on an editing tool of such high caliber.

This user has also vandalized -- from his primary account -- the (former) userpage, "User:Ugly nigger poop". I think that user had been permanently blocked several weeks before "Foo12" even made his account, so I have no idea how he found the name and why it seemed to suddenly become such an exigent issue for him to post odd "warnings" all over that userspace (and talkspace, to a lesser extent -- this still exists). An admin deleted the page and warned Foo12 about it[5], and Foo in turn left another comment on my talkpage, asking "what he can do" about it[6].

Even if not all of the accounts/IPs are linked, I have a hard time believing that this user is genuinely trying to improve the encyclopedia, but rather be destructive using subtle, gradual and (relatively) inconspicuous tactics, while attempting to come across as a new user who doesn't know any better. I have stopped conversing with this user.

Thank you in advance for looking into this. --Czj 09:03, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Likely the IPs, not the accounts. Foo12 edits from 207.69.136.0/24-207.69.138.0/24, which are shared, but the coincidence of those IPs vandalizing his userspace is a little unbelievable. Dmcdevit·t 02:45, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
