[edit] Mentorship
1) User:Marcosantezana is placed under Wikipedia:Mentorship for an undetermined time until he is behaving within the rules and policies of Wikipedia.
- Comment by Arbitrators:
- Comment by parties:
- I think the major issue is that he just does not get the basic point that Wikipedia is a communitybeffort, and works by arguments and building consensus. His ignoring of anything and everything who is not in line with his views and the way he treats people are prime examples of that. Placing him under Mentorship could help to solve the problem as he definatly has something to offer to wikipedia. KimvdLinde 19:57, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
- Comment by others:
- I think he's unlikely to take constructive critcism from a Mentor that doesn't have very strong biology credientials. I have noticed some editors, so far uninvolved with the articles in question, that might be solicited to act as Mentors. I suspect that the more likely they are to succeed as Mentors in this case, the harder it will be to convince them that it's worth their while... Pete.Hurd 14:12, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
-
- Although I think Pete is right in his assessment of Marcos, I think this is actually part of the problem and not the solution - he needs to learn that edits are not justified solely through one's expertise in a given subject (e.g. biology) but through compliance with policies, including working with others. If he won't allow himself to be mentored (effectively and succesfully) by a non-biologist, then any mentoring will be at best only partly effective. Slrubenstein | Talk 19:08, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ban pending mentorship
2) User:Marcosantezana is banned from editing main pages until placing under mentorship has resulted in behaviour that is in compliance with the rules and policies of Wikipedia.
- Comment by Arbitrators:
- Comment by parties:
- Letting him participate at the talk pages can be beneficial for wikipedia but only in combination with a mentorship. The mainissues with him are at the main pages where he just edits the way he thinks is best. KimvdLinde 19:57, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
- Comment by others:
- Given his past evasion of 24 hr block, I think it more likely he would evade the ban via anon IP (or new user account) than quietly wait and resume after a ban. That being said, I don't see this concern as a valid reason for not trying to implement this decision. Pete.Hurd 14:12, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ban if mentorship fails
3) User:Marcosantezana will be banned from editing main pages indefinitely if placing under mentorship does not result in compliance with the rules and policies of Wikipedia.
- Comment by Arbitrators:
- Comment by parties:
- Well, if there is not improvement under mentorship, the whole circus would start again as soon as any temporarily ban would expire.KimvdLinde 19:57, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
- Comment by others:
- repeat my comment from #2. Pete.Hurd 14:12, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
