Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Alfrem/Evidence

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anyone, whether directly involved or not, may add evidence to this page. Please make a header for your evidence and sign your comments with your name.

When placing evidence here, please be considerate of the arbitrators and be concise. Long, rambling, or stream-of-conciousness rants are not helpful.

As such, it is extremely important that you use the prescribed format. Submitted evidence should include a link to the actual page diff; links to the page itself are not sufficient. For example, to cite the edit by Mennonot to the article Anomalous phenomenon adding a link to Hundredth Monkey use this form: [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Anomalous_phenomenon&diff=5587219&oldid=5584644] [1].

This page is not for general discussion - for that, see talk page.

Please make a section for your evidence and add evidence only in your own section. Please limit your evidence to a maximum 1000 words and 100 diffs, a much shorter, concise presentation is more likely to be effective. Please focus on the issues raised in the complaint and answer and on diffs which illustrate behavior which relates to the issues.

If you disagree with some evidence you see here, please cite the evidence in your own section and provide counter-evidence, or an explanation of why the evidence is misleading. Do not edit within the evidence section of any other user.

Be aware that the Arbitrators may at times rework this page to try to make it more coherent. If you are a participant in the case or a third party, please don't try to refactor the page, let the Arbitrators do it. If you object to evidence which is inserted by other participants or third parties please cite the evidence and voice your objections within your own section of the page. It is especially important to not remove evidence presented by others. If something is put in the wrong place, please leave it for the arbitrators to move.

[edit] Evidence presented by Ta bu shi da yu

  1. 03:56, 22 June 2005
Alfrem removes political philosophy and changes it to philosophy. I reverted this because the only edit summary is "-POV"
  2. 17:53, 22 June 2005.
Alfrem again removes political philosophy and changes it to philosophy with the edit summary "-POV"
Note: in the interest of fairness, Alfrem did comment on the talk page detailing why he removed the term. Time posted is 13:04, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)
  3. 23:05, 22 June 2005
    Alfrem removes term again.
  4. 22:53, 23 June 2005
    Alfrem reverts, removing term again
  5. 01:52, 24 June 2005
    Happens again.
  6. Ta bu shi da yu adds a footnote - somewhere in those edits, I added a footnote to source our references to political philosophy.
  7. 16:31, 24 June 2005
    Term removed again by Alfrem.
  8. 16:50, 24 June 2005
Term removed again, this time Alfrem states that "Libertarianism is a philosophy which is completely based on one axiom - the non-aggression principle."
  9. 19:20, 25 June 2005
Alfrem removes the footnote that sources the term political philosophy!
  10. 04:41, 26 June 2005
Alfrem removes footnote sourcing political philosophy again. Edit summary: "no useless fotenote please, see discussion".
  11. 02:42, 27 June 2005
Removes footnote again: edit summary "Notes and references - -POV"
  12. 02:47, 27 June 2005
Alfrem removes "political philosophy" again, replaces it with "Libertarianism is a anti-political philosophy". {{ref}} template is not removed, this still sources it as a political philosophy! This is disruptive: we look ridiculous because of it. Also, no sources are provided by Alfrem.
  13. 09:18, 27 June 2005
Alfrem removes term "political philosophy" again
  14. 09:19, 27 June 2005

  16. 19:21, 28 June 2005

  17. 19:23, 28 June 2005

[edit] Evidence presented by malathion

Since the arbitration was accepted and Alfrem (talk contribs) was temporarily banned from editing Libertarianism while the committee makes its final decision, he appears to be logging out so he can edit the article anonymously from a sockpuppet at 80.131.0.46 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log).

  1. 03:48, 13 July 2005
Leaves a comment in Talk:Libertarianism as an anonymous user stating "Ta bu shi da yu blocked Alfrem 48 h and runs riot in the article. I am not clear by which right."
  2. 03:50, 13 July 2005
Ambiguates the lead with weasel language. No edit summary.
  3. 03:57, 13 July 2005
    Reverts back to his version.
  4. 05:10, 13 July 2005
    Reverts back to his version.

[edit] Evidence presented by Harry491 (Dave)

I've never been in an RFAr, so please forgive any deviation from the norm in my presentation of this information. I've tried to follow the same format as the above users.

Elections template

  1. 04:42, July 8, 2005
Removes a link to Libertarianism from the list of "modern political ideologies" on Template:Elections.
  2. 06:43, July 8, 2005
After he is reverted, he changes "modern political ideologies" to "political and non-political ideologies"
  3. 17:49, July 8, 2005
I suggest to the editors of the template that, given my past experience with Alfrem and libertarianism-related topics, "the best solution is to keep reverting him" until Arbcom takes care of him.
  4. July 8, 2005
    Alfrem reverts
  5. 18:06, July 8, 2005
I revert, warning him that deleting comments constitutes vandalism
  6. 18:10, July 8, 2005
Alfrem reverts, quoting "the best solution is to keep reverting him."
  7. 18:13, July 8, 2005
    Alfrem reverts again
  8. 02:53, July 9, 2005
Alfrem reverts again (4th revert) and is blocked by Ta bu shi da yu for 3RR on another article.

Additionally, Alfrem begins reverting any edit I make to the libertarianism article, whether it supports his position or not:

  1. 18:03, July 8, 2005
Alfrem reverts my deletion of a redundant template (which was changing rapidly, but looked approximately like this at the time)
  2. 18:11, July 8, 2005
After I delete it again, explaining that "2 templates is bad, and libertarianism links to politics already," Alfrem reverts, quoting "the best solution is to keep reverting him."
  3. 18:15, July 8, 2005
I revert, asking "Alfrem, why are you putting a politics template on a page you don't think is political?"
  4. 02:59, July 9, 2005
Alfrem stops reverting the template, but instead rewrites the lead to say "The libertarian political idea is the rejection of politics. Therefore it is a political philosophy. Libertarianism is favoring personal and economic liberty..." and removed the footnote.

Edit wars on other pages relating to libertarianism

  1. 04:04, June 30, 2005
Alfrem starts an edit war on Anarcho-capitalism with User:Saswann and User:Rhobite by deleting an important paragraph. In fairness, he has since made a useful contribution to the article.
  2. 7:36, June 29, 2005
One sample edit from a revert war with Rhobite and Saswann over whether a Geocities reference is worth putting into the aricle on non-aggression principle.
