- Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Wikipedia backlog and Category:Administrative backlog, and read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.
- A: I would like to help with NPOV disputes, articles for deletion, and vandalism patrol. I'd also like to help in the areas of blocking and unblocking users and IP's, and protecting frequently vandalized pages.
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A: I am very pleased with the Campion article mentioned above. After I created it as a stub, I worked with other users to bring it up to a full article, complete with as much info as possible. I am also happy with the results of some of my earliest edits on soccer playes, adding info boxes to certain players and updating stats.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: I encountered some opposition from apple "fanboys" when I suggested that there be a criticism section on the Mac OS X article. However, I tried to write the section as not to upset anyone, and some very helpful users came to my aid. This caused me little stress, but was frustrating because some users were clearly violating NPOV.
- General comments
- I owe all of my random knowledge to Wikipedia, so this is my way of saying "thanks."
