Pikminlover (talk • contribs) – I have been around on the wikipedia for what most people consider "Not enough time", although I have been around one thing enough, Vandalism. I would like to become an Admin in order to help stop it. I most likely don't have enough edits, either, but I have a good eye for grammar mistakes (periods, commas, etc.), so I make more edits all the time. Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Wikipedia backlog and Category:Administrative backlog, and read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.

A: I would probably help with the chores of blocking, unblocking, protecting pages, and unprotecting pages. I would like to block so that I can stop vandalism. I would sometimes use the privelage of unblocking for different reasons. At the beggining of the week, my friend The X House was blocked for VoA. I know he didn't do it, because he was right next to me the whole time, so it could have been a password stealing. I want to protect pages (mostly semi-protect) because some pages need to be protected against anonymous IP addresses. I wouldn't really unprotect a page unless I am positive it needs to be unprotected. Overall, I think I would block users the most.

2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?

A: Of all the edits I made, I would probably like the link removal on the Chinese New Year page. I felt that it would be me that removed the External Links tag. I have also found a number of grammar and punctuation edits on the Wikipedia.

3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?

• I'll post under discussion in lieu of !voting because the result of this RfA, if not withdrawn, is preordained. Your instinct is correct, you simply do not have enough time in the project to be familiar with administrator tasks or to be entrusted with those particular tools. Please withdraw this RfA, continue your productive editing, and come back when you are sure you want, need, and can use the extra buttons that administrator access provides. 3. Strong oppose first you haven't even bothered to answer the questions before adding your RfA. Your edit count is under 100, half of which are to your userpage. This means that we don't have nearly enough evidence to tell if you are suitable to be an admin or not. This edit seems pointless and certainly isn't in line with policy. This edit creates a redirect to an article that doesn't exist. I suggest you wait until you have at least 2500 edits and 3-4 months of solid experience, then take an editor review before trying again. Oh and you just blanked this page which is vandalism: did you even read the RfA instructions? Gwernol 02:11, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

The candidate blanked the page after getting 2 quick oppose votes and then my comment at the top urging withdrawal. I think it's fair to assume that blanking this page and removing the listing from WP:RfA is a withdrawal of the candidacy. I know it has to be closed properly, but the candidate is trying to do the sensible thing; WP:BITE. Newyorkbrad 02:13, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
