[edit] John Anderson

John Anderson (talk • contribs) – I tend not to make so many contributions, but I try to add facts and correct faults. John Anderson 21:19, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here:
I accept my autonomination. John Anderson 21:33, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Since people don't think I should become an administrator, I humbly revert my acceptance. I just hope someone else will be able to make the Scanian move as stated below. John Anderson 22:09, 10 October 2006 (UTC)- You can post your request for the move at Wikipedia:Requested_page_moves. You should provide links to any prior discussion in support of the move. Newyorkbrad 22:27, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Wikipedia backlog and Category:Administrative backlog, and read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.
- A: I like to be able to revert changes which are made just for "fun" by unserious people.
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A: I don't really know, but I think I have made some valid contributions to the list of real people appearing in fictional contexts and to the list of stars on the Hollywood Boulevard.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: There has been some discussion over my move of Scania from Skåne to Scania (see Talk:Skåne), but I think the consensus seem to be, that Skåne should be moved to Scania now. I'd like to become an administratior partly to be able to make this move (as some pages which should be used are redirection pages now and need to be erased). I usually can take a discussion, and if my opponents have valid points, I can accept this even if I may not agree to it personally.

Oppose
- Oppose, not enough recent activity and answers to questions don't show you need access to sysop functions. Naconkantari 21:42, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Fixed this for you. -Matthew
- Frak no - No, weak answers, rrely contributes. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 21:45, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose - Only 750 edits, with all but 140 in article namespace. Needs much more experience in Wikipedia and user talk namespaces. Answers to questions are suboptimal. --Aaron 21:47, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose Sorry, John, but your answers are quite weak. The one "sysop chore" you list in #1 does not require admin tools, so you give me no reason to believe that you even need them. Your number of contributions does not concern me as much as the editors above, though I do like to see a candidate with a lot of edits to talk pages. Keep contributing, and best of luck. -- Kicking222 21:52, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose weak answers, doesn't need admin tools. --Alex (Talk) 21:55, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
