[edit] Hedley
Vote here (25/8/0) ended 07:08 2 July 2005 (UTC), user promoted
Despite having his problems in the past see:[[1]] Hedley has been a long time editor and has contributed much to wikipedia including a Feature Article:Vanilla Ninja. Hedley also has been very helpful member of the wikipedia editor community and is always willing to help a user in need of advice on wikipedia practices and guidelines or in need of a second set of eyes to review an article. For these reasons I with great pleasure nominate Hedley for adminship. Jtkiefer 07:10, Jun 25, 2005 (UTC)
- Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here:

- I accept. I withdrew from my last nomination due to an unfortunate debate there (seehere), and took on the concerns raised by some. I've since contacted the user I had the dispute with and attempted to resolve things, with an amount of success, and have took on concerns raised by Oppose and Neutral voters. I now firmly believe I am suitable to become an administrator. Hedley 10:42, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

- I opposed last time, due to my concerns over Hedley's good faith. I am now completely convinced, and I was going to nominate myself in a couple of days time. smoddy 13:46, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

- SupportI trust that you will work for the good and harmony of the community. I hope you don't dominate the Child prodigy page and allow others to edit within concensus and policy. Still, I am confident that you will be a good administrator. Condidering also that there are a lot of vandalisms, trolls, etc. out there.--Jondel 29 June 2005 00:02 (UTC)

- The above user is referring to my denying writing a private message posted on my last RfA by a user called David 5000. I still stand by the statement. The diff would be the discussion at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Hedley. Hedley 20:08, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)

- Oppose, it is less than a month after the previous nomination failed (or, technically, was withdrawn). Many of the comments in there were regarding Hedley's lack of experience, so I feel that that still holds now. Radiant_>|< June 28, 2005 14:24 (UTC)
- Oppose. Do not know the user, but less than one month since his vocally opposed candidacy does not seem a long enough interim. I also disapprove of his comment on Allen3's RFA candidacy (below) needling someone for not explaining his vote. PedanticallySpeaking June 29, 2005 17:51 (UTC)

- Oppose. Too soon, and Hedley displays an alarming (if somewhat charming) naivety of the complexity of our social interaction coupled with a lot of eagerness to be bold. This could only be a bad thing if coupled with the ability to act. Gmaxwell 1 July 2005 18:41 (UTC)
- Oppose. Please look at the previous nomination. My concern remains what it was then. Jonathunder 2005 July 1 20:20 (UTC)
- Oppose. Only one month since the previous nomination. Gamaliel 2 July 2005 00:30 (UTC)
- Severely oppose. I don't think that Hedley is ready yet to be an administrator. Maybe later - not yet. --Master Psychologist 2 July 2005 11:17 (UTC)
- This user is ongoing in a minor dispute with me at Talk:Child prodigy, and has accused me of being (amongst other things) a "hopeless deletionist". Hedley 2 July 2005 11:39 (UTC)

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
- A. I'd be happy to participate in all chores, especially maintenance of VfD and tracking down/dealing with vandals and their vandalism. In general i'm happy to do whats needed, at the time.
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A. Since my last RfA I got my first featured article, Vanilla Ninja, which i'm happy with. I would never call an article my own, but I was the only person who made major edits to it, so i'm pleased with the outcome. Several other articles i'm happy with are 2005 GP2 Series season, Dragostea Din Tei and Sector7seven. In general, though, every little speedy delete i've posted or minor edit i've made is a contribution, and i'm happy with those too.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A. Yes. As seen on my last RfA, my first few edits in February were hoaxes as part of a game on an online forum. I've had a dispute ever since I reported the articles with David 5000, although I attempted to clear this up by e-mail a few days ago (to prevent this RfA becoming flooded with the debate, like my last one). Aside from that i've had few major conflicts, with some minor ones over Child prodigy and so, much like everyone does on Wikipedia. I deal with conflicts in a friendly manner, and try to see everyones point of view. I'm often willing to compromise.
