[edit] Video Template

I have been editing an entry and have been advised that there is something called a 'video template' which can link a video or DVD reference number to an external site/database which can then use the code for a search. Can someone please tell me where to find the information on video templates and how to use them? —This unsigned comment was added by 86.132.129.252 (talkcontribs) .

Hi. I'm not sure what you are looking for. There is a Cite video template which can be used to put citations of videos into a standard format. There are also templates like IMDB title which allow linking to information about a movie on an external site, though not a particular video or DVD.
For instance,
{{Cite video | people=Carson, Johnny (Host, Executive Producer) | year=2003 | title=The Ultimate Carson Collection Vol. 3 | medium=DVD | location=USA | publisher=Carson Productions }}

Produces: Carson, Johnny (Host, Executive Producer). (2003). The Ultimate Carson Collection Vol. 3 [DVD]. USA: Carson Productions.

and,
{{imdb title|id=0120737|title=Fellowship of the Ring}}

Produces: Fellowship of the Ring at the Internet Movie Database

Please let me know if you were looking for something else. --CBDunkerson 00:21, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair Use Claim needed

I have seen lot of images with tags that require a fair use rationale without a one completely. A template to place on either the image or the uploaders talk page would be helpful. I don't have any ideas on how it should work. Most likely close to how {{subt:nsd}}/{{subst:nld}} work. Thanks!!! 01:29, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

See Wikipedia:Fair use review for how situations like this are currently handled. The Template:fairusereview and Template:fair use disputed templates are used in conjunction with discussion on that page. --CBDunkerson 12:45, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Not to be confused with X" templates

I know that it would be a very simple template to make, but I've noticed that a template something along the lines of the following would be useful, as the disambiguation template isn't specific enough:

Not to be confused with Walrus.

(Where "Walrus" is obviously the argument.) --Steve Caruso 00:23, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

See Template:Distinguish. --CBDunkerson 00:43, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Excellent! Just what I was looking for. Thanks. --Steve Caruso 00:51, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pro Life

I would like someone to make a Pro Life user template —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Igilli (talkcontribs) .

See template:User Pro-life. --CBDunkerson 01:19, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Barbershop harmony society

Hello, I would to request that a template be made for the Barbershop Harmony Society... It would be nice if the template could contain the following things: Different Districts that make up the B.H.S, the past international champions, and a spot to put external links. You dont have to go through all of the work of making the complete template in its entirety, just the basic format of that. thanks in advance and feel free to contact me --Zack3rdbb 21:06, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Hmmm, I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for but take a look at Template:BHS Navbox. --CBDunkerson 22:28, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Thank you... Thats exactly what i was looking for. --Zack3rdbb 22:37, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
