Template:Trİl

Trİl should be copied as "TurkeyProv" İl adı (Province name) is a pointer to 2 gifs in tr WP space 1 showing a map of the province the second a map of Turkey with the province hightlighted. Bölge should be copied as "Region" Yüzölçümü should be copied as "Area (sq km)" Nüfus should be copied as "Population" Plaka kodu should be copied as "License plate code" Telefon kodu should be copied as "Telephone code" İlçe sayısı should be copied as "Administrative code" Vali should be copied as "Governor"

The categories included should be translated as:

Category:Provinces of Turkey :Category:{Province name}

the third probably isn't needed.

the series of gif files also needs copying over to English WP. This will give a much better look and more informative presentation to the first order geographic divions of Turkey. Carlossuarez46 19:59, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

OK so I created TurkishProvince but need to copy over the .gifs that are called, how is that best done, they are MetaWiki'ed at the Turkish WP site, but I don't know how to extract them from MetaWiki to the English WP site. My Turkish is only so/so but my WP-ese seems to be worse. Please help. Carlossuarez46 21:11, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Bleh. Well, while you were doing that I created this as Template:Infobox province TR for consistency with other templates on English Wikipedia. However, I also put in a Template:TurkeyProv redirect so that the requested name will work. I am copying over the images as and . --CBDunkerson 21:37, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
Note that I didn't know the copyright status of the image files so they should be updated with that soon. --CBDunkerson 12:21, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
Sorry to try to do it myself; I had never done a template before and so I played around in the sandbox until it was close enough. Sorry I didn't know the proper naming either. Any update on the copyright? Carlossuarez46 23:00, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Users Baltimore

It would be great if someone could create a users template for people who lived in Baltimore, MD. If you want any suggestions about style and content, drop me a line on my talk page.

--chemica 04:00, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Created as Template:User Baltimore. --CBDunkerson 02:36, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] USA-centric

Several articles are USA-centric, such as Intelligent transportation system discussing Suburbs and "homeland security" as if these are universal social phenomena. A template that would flag that would be useful so that non-US people can come around and add perspective.

There may be a need for other "X-centric" templates.

Samfreed 14:32, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Does the existing Template:Globalize cover what you are looking for? --CBDunkerson 23:24, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

It does, but the USA-Centric problem is so common it deserves its own category. It would also allow non-USA wikipedians an index to focus on. Samfreed 10:18, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

I suspect that virtually all the pages with 'Globalize' on them have it due to USA-centrism, but I created to provide a specific sub-set. It places articles into the same category as 'Globalize', but also adds them to a new Category:USA-centric. --CBDunkerson 16:57, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Relevance Template

The following three templates are being proposed for deletion: Template:Exclusion, Template:Inclusion-Section, and Template:Exclusion-Section. These tags, although useful in drawing attention to talk pages where the relevance of content is disputed, can also fuel disputes by being used in revert wars. As a result, I am requesting a more general template to identify disputes. The template may be worded in the following way: "The relevance of particular information in this article is disputed. It may have been included or removed by an editor as a result. See the talk page for more information." -- backburner001 00:08, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

See content. People can tweak the wording / setup and create a 'section' version if it is deemed suitable. --CBDunkerson 01:05, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
Excellent work. Do you think another one of these templates should be created with the same message, but made for specific sections? Or do you think this will suffice? -- backburner001 02:30, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
Would it work just as well to delete "The relevance of" from the template, so that it says the "Particular information" is disputed? Or is it really important that the relevance rather than the information itself is the topic of dispute? --Tifego 04:40, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
I expected there would be adjustments to this template. Discussion on how it should be presented and/or a separate 'section' version should be held on the talk page for the template. --CBDunkerson 16:57, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
