Republic is a men's- and women's-wear retailer with over 80 stores in the UK. It was initially founded in 1985 as Just Jeans, but later changed its name to Best Jeanswear before Republic was launched in 1998. It is a private limited company positioned in the mass sector of the clothing and footwear markets, with a focus on young fashion. In 2005, Change Capital invested in the company to finance expansion plans.
