Reporting Scotland is BBC Scotland's national television news programme. The programme first went on air in 1968, with three main presenters, the most famous being Mary Marquis. It is the main national news programme in Scotland, with STV and ITV Border providing regional, more localised bulletins for their coverage area.

The programme airs four times a day on BBC One Scotland from Monday to Friday at 13:30-13:40, 15:21-15:25, 18:30-19:00 and 22:27-22:35. It also airs in the evening at the weekend, usually just after the UK-wide BBC News programmes. It is broadcast from Studio B at BBC Scotland's Headquarters in Queen Margaret Drive, Glasgow. The smaller Studio N (in the corner of the Glasgow newsroom) is used for early morning and weekend bulletins. The programme can be watched in any part of the UK (and Europe) on digital satellite channel 971 on the BBC UK regional TV on satellite service.

The viewing figures for the main evening programme average between 500,000 and 600,000. The main transmitters for the programme are those at Durris near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire and Black Hill in North Lanarkshire.

The programme's studio set was refreshed on 12th February 2007 with a design reflecting its network counterpart. The studio backdrop now features BBC Scotland's new headquarters on the banks of the Clyde- although the programme is still being transmitted from Studio B at Queen Margaret Drive. BBC News Scotland is due to move to BBC Scotland's new Headquarters at Pacific Quay in Glasgow in July 2007. The new building will be one of the most modern, state of the art, digital broadcasting facilities in the world. STV moved into their new building at Pacific Quay in June 2006.
