"Report by Exception" is the ninth episode of the second season of the CBS television series The Unit. The episode was originally scheduled to air on October 24, 2006, but was preempted by Game 3 of the 2006 World Series. It eventually aired on November 21, 2006.

Jonas has to work closely with his "undercover wife" to assassinate a prominent Latin American official who threatens the U.S. oil supply. However, after Colonel Ryan is questioned about the team's current mission in a congressional briefing in Washington, D.C., a subsequent press leak undermines the mission and puts his men in danger.
