Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Wolverine seeks out Heather Hudson, who seems to have arranged a meeting in the Canadian wilderness. It turns out to be a trap set by her husband James Hudson, aka Vindicator, who wants to catch Wolverine with the help of the Alpha Flight team and find out the secret of Wolverine's adamantium bones. They also consider him a traitor because he left them for the X-Men.

Wolverine fights Vindicator, Snowbird, Puck, Shaman, Northstar, Aurora and Sasquatch. He is eventually overwhelmed and finds himself prisoner of the Canadian high military staff. They begin to scan his skeleton.

In a flashback, Wolverine's connection to the Hudsons becomes apparent. They were the first people he met after escaping the Weapon X project. They nursed his amnesia and re-integrated him into society. This is why Vindicator felt especially betrayed by Wolverine when he left them for the X-Men.

When they cannot penetrate deep enough, the scan intensity becomes so high that Wolverine screams with pain. At this point, Heather protests, and is taken away by force. The members of Alpha Flight (besides Vindicator) decide that enough is enough and decide to free Wolverine. Alpha Flight beat the battle droid guards, allowing Wolverine, hungry for revenge, to defeat Vindicator in a big fight.

But when Wolverine wants to finish Vindicator off, Heather holds him back, telling him that Wolverine once liked her very much. She pleads that if he truly cares for her, he will forgive the error of her husband, as she loves him with all his faults. Wolverine reluctantly agrees, sheathes his claws and tells his former Alpha Flight comrades to mind their own business in the future. Then he walks away.
