Repeal (Ireland)

The Bank of Ireland, College Green — before 1801 the seat of the Irish Houses of Parliament, which the Repeal campaign aimed to restore.

Repeal [[1]] [[2]] was a demand by Irish nationalist leader Daniel O'Connell (6 August 1775 – 15 May 1847) for the repeal of the Act of Union 1800 which had merged the Kingdom of Great Britain and Kingdom of Ireland^{[citation needed]} to form the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland in 1801.
