[edit] Re: A point about Zen Collaboration

Just a small point: you mention in the intro bit to Wikipedia:Zen Collaboration of the Month that "there is very scant coverage of famous Zen Masters (there's no biography of Tenryu, for example)"—this is, of course, very true, but a biography of Tenryu (a.k.a Hángzhōu Tiānlóng) would be a scanty one indeed (see here, for instance). Although, of course, anecdotes and kōans involving him could always be given, as could some account of his influence.

My own personal pet peeve is the fact that, apparently, there is no article about the awesome Layman Pang—who we've got a bit more biographical info about, incidentally—on Wikipedia; this is, however, a hole that I'm planning to fill sometime soon (hopefully). Anyhow, cheers. —Saposcat 09:43, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Useful Article (Layman Pang)

Nice! Thanks for the heads up. I think Layman Pang is who I was feebly attempting to recall in my crappy second sentence in the Householder (Buddhism) article's Mahayana section. Question: Would you know if Layman Pang was a layman or a householder or both or there is no such distinction in the Mahayana canon as there is in the Pali canon (or maybe there is no such distinction in the Pali canon as there is in my head?) ? Thanks! LarryR 18:57, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey Rentwa - FWIW, just wanted to mention that I've changed courses on the Householder (Buddhism) article so that it is more inclusive of modern day notions of a "householder." (I think the change will lead to less confusion, more inclusivity of Wikipedia's diverse voices, and less time on my part trying to address such confusion and diversity ;-) .) So, in case my above query about "layman"/"householder" might in any way cause you to hesitate editing the article sometime in the future, let it hinder you no further :) . I hope all's going well, LarryR 19:24, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Zen prostrations

Hey Rentwa - Hope you're doing okay. While that pound of flesh I've set aside for you is looking a little swollen and misshapened at this point, I thought I'd nonetheless use your talk page for another plea for help: Prostration (Buddhism)#Mahayana_Buddhism is sadly in need of some Mahayana smarts. If and when you (or any of the excellent editors who peruse your Talk page) get a chance. Best, LarryR 01:29, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
