[edit] Thanks

Hey ,houldn't

Thanks a ton for the information that you gave. I do know that some of them may have done it thinking it is personal pages. So need not worry I just asked you to know why they keep doing like that. Our's is an organization that works with young people in helping them know good morals and God Himself. Many of our viewers are eargly searching for our website. Since it is under another banner we thought we might as well post an article here so that people can get in touch with us through this page .

Thanks a lot for the info, we are praying for you. God bless you brother!

[edit] Your Occupation?

What is your occupation and what is it that you have got to do with ON FIRE? Are you a part of them too or just another person who is part of wikipedia? Do you really have any another relation with any other organizations too?

Hello friend!! My occupation is nothing but to share the word of God. I have got nothing to do with ON FIRE because it is not my organization, but I do confess that I am part of that organization too and part of wikipedia. I may or may have but right now I am with ON FIRE and I think that will do for you. rencin24 13:05, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My question

My question is wether are you employed only in this organization alon or do you work some where else too? I f so where is that, Just to know you more? Just consider me as friend. This is Nick.

[edit] What happened to the site?

Hey what happened to the website that was here or the webpage? I am not able to find it? Please do direct me to the current page you have created. Thanks. Nick.

[edit] Pentecostal Mission

The best way forward is to write an original article, supported with references to both your book and the paper that the original article was copied from. Write it in your own words. But remember Wikipedia policies - write it in a way that is neutral. Wikipedia cannot assert that something is true, it needs to report on it - think about writing the article as if it were written by an outsider, one who neither follows the church, nor is hostile to it. I'll try to help if I have time. Guettarda 14:19, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I just got news of a death in the family, so I probably won't be around for a while. You should contact User:Pjacobi, he should be able to figure out what to do next. Guettarda 13:36, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Reply from my talk page

Hi Rencin.

You asked me to look, so I did. What I see is you vandalizing a talk page by removing any comments you disagree with. If you're referring to the article and not the talk page, I don't see where anyone has made inappropriate edits. Is there a specific edit you disagree with, or do you just not like people questioning TPM on the talk page? --Onorem 11:04, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

The talk page is there so that people can have discussions about the article. It is an appropriate place to voice concerns about the credibility of things mentioned in the article. I don't know -anything- about the topic you're discussing there and wouldn't be qualified to comment, but to me it looked like "Pastor Alvin" raised a few potentially valid questions which were erased instead of addressed. People are going to make changes to pages you spend time on, and it can be frustrating to see something you've worked hard on changed, but there is no ownership of articles. It's there for everyone to contribute to. --Onorem 13:27, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] September 27

Hello Rencin,

I've noticed you're helping out by adding {stub} and {cleanup} tags.

A couple of notes for stubs:

  • When adding stubs, please check to see that the page doesn't have a more specific stub tag already.
  • It's preferred that specific stubs from this list are used to help keep things more organized.
  • The {stub} should be added to the very bottom of the page.
  • Talk pages should never be tagged as stubs.

As for the {cleanup} tags...I did remove a couple of them. The article for Island City, Oregon looks very similar to most articles for small towns in the US, and I'm not sure which part of My Early Burglary Years you thought needed to be cleaned up. There's not a lot of information there, but it seems to be presented well.

Thanks for taking an active part in keeping Wikipedia clean and organized. --Onorem 11:52, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Finding the articles that should be tagged for deletion is the tough part. I regularly check for articles with N next to them on the 'Recent changes' link that should be under 'navigation' on the left side of your screen. Those are newly created articles, which I think are the easiest to check. I'll also usually check the 'User contributions' of users that have created nonsense articles or vandalized in some other way.

I'm not sure what you mean by "how do I become a wikipedia User". You're already a wikipedia user. --Onorem 12:26, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] pages for chief pastors

Hi Rencin,

It would be difficult to create articles for each of the chief pastor. You should have enough material about each person. Secondly, it would have to meet wikipedia rules too. You may try if you chose to. I was just thinking of putting a list of all prior chief pastors on "TPM" article.--Spm2006 17:10, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A friendly word

Hi Rencin. You're clearly new round here and part of the joy of being new is making mistakes. You've made a few here...

    1. tagging a well-grounded article for deletion
    2. tagging it for "speedy" deletion compounded the error
    3. you've then left a message on czrussian's talk page accusing him of being uncivil, when in my opinion he wasn't really (if in the cold light of day you disagree with me, strike this as a mistake by you)
    4. you've then deleted czrussian's warning message from your own talk page, which you're not supposed to do (someone else can, but you can't do it yourself)

Unfortunately for you, the worst thing about all of this is actually pure bad luck and not your fault - the editor you've accused (incorrectly IMHO) of being uncivil is in the middle of a sensitive nomination for becoming an admin again and his civility or lack of it is rather critical.

May I suggest... if, now things have calmed down, you agree with me on all of the above points, please go to czrussian's talk page and erase your comment, along with an edit summary that says something along the lines of you changing your mind and he wasn't uncivil. I'm sure that if you do this, czrussian will return the favour and return here and blank the warning. After all, you are a newbie.

I hope you take this in the genuine spirit in which it is intended. It's not so long since I was a newbie. --Dweller 10:20, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Picture yourself in the shoes of PastFinder (talk contribs). He's brand new, and has written a short article. Not two minutes later another user comes along and slaps a speedy deletion tag on the article without articulating any reason whatsoever. How would that make you feel? Not only that, I for one don't think the article merits deletion at all, neither speedy nor any other kind. Deleting other people's work is serious business and should be done gently if the writer wrote the article in good faith, as here. I think an apology to PastFinder is in order. I have removed the useless warning. - CrazyRussian talk/email 12:04, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Pastor Don.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Pastor Don.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Pastor Don.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Pastor Don.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. thunderboltz(Deepu) 06:20, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Images uploaded need to have a copyright tag and a source (a link from where you got it), so we can verify that the image is suitable for use on wikipedia. Adding the tag is pretty easy too. Click on the "edit this page" button on the top on the image's description page. Then, replace the {{no license}} tag that I added, with the appropriate tag from WP:ICT. If you created this image yourself, add {{gfdl-self}} to it to release it into public domain. Only images under a free license (as described on the page), are usually allowed. However, if your image comes under any of fair use criteria, then please add the appropriate tag and an explanation underneath on why it qualifies as fair use. Hope this helps. Need any further help, please contact me.-- thunderboltz(Deepu) 06:40, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I am a Mallu. :-) Where are you from? I'm curently in Kochi in Kerala. Have you been to (or are you from) this part of the world?
Regarding email, go to Special:Preferences. There you find an option to enable email. You should authenticate your email by following the instructions. Then, select the checkbox where it says "Enable e-mail from other users". Click save. That should do the trick. Then on, people can email you using the link : Special:Emailuser/Rencin24.-- thunderboltz(Deepu) 07:11, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of Pastor Pages

Hey, I saw that you were expressing dismay at the fact that some of your pages were being deleted (and yes, I voted for deletion of the Pastor Don page). You didn't seem to understand why these deltions are occurring, claiming that you had asked for help to make the article better. I thought I'd explain why these articles are going up for deletion to help you out so when, in the future, you make other articles you can avoid having your work deleted.

Wikipedia is a secular/objective encyclopedia with a very strong policy of requiring all articles to fit in the Non-Point of View policy. You clearly stated, in your defense of the article, that you are simply 'trying to promote the word of God.' Evangelism does not fit in NPOV policy; wikipedia articles can't take a stance on whether or not God exists or which religion's God's exists. Thus you can't make an article that assert things like "Right from an early age, he had a Passion and a love for things of God and a desire to serve Him." This language is infused with a Christian viewpoint. A more proper way of phrasing it would be something like "From an early age he was raised in a Christian setting which led him to develop strong religious feelings." Not all readers of the Wikipedia believe in God and putting things in overtly religious language amounts to pushing one point of view over others.

Furthermore, even if the article had been written in an objective manner, the fact remains that the man was not sufficiently notable to get an article on the wikipedia. This is not to say that he wasn't a good man, I'm sure he was. However, the Wikipedia can't be a repository of information on every Past whose ever lived. That would open it up to being available to offer a memorial to every person who'd ever lived, which simply isn't possible. This is not a place for a memorial. An individual has to be relatively famous to justify having an article on the wikipedia and this person simply didn't meet this requirement. --The Way 10:18, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Hello Cattlegirl I just want to know how to find out new users and give them a welcome note. Would be great if you can help me.Thanks. rencin24 rencin24 11:18, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

I'd be happy to help!
When you welcome new users, you can either do it through the Recent Changes page, but a quicker way is Special: log/newusers, which is a page of just the new users. To welcome them, put one of these templates on their pages:

{{Subst: Welcome}} ~~~~ This is for I.P. addresses. {{Subst: Welcome2}} ~~~~ This is a longer welcome for registered users. {{Subst: Welcome3}} ~~~~ This is a shorter welcome for registered users.

Happy to help- CattleGirl 11:27, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey cattlegirl I want to know as to how do I upload an image that is already got copyright. And please can I also have some of your userbox's for myself. Are you also there in Orkut? If so please let me know!!!Thanks. rencin24
Hey Rencin24. Where did you get the image? is it from a website? which one? if it has copyright it is unlikely it can be uploaded to wikipedia, however it might come under the fair use policy. For more info go to Wikipedia:Images Sure you can have userboxes off my page- i got them from other userpages as well! Orkut... is that this orkut? if so, then no. CattleGirl 09:57, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
I had to upload a photo for Genpact's another link called as Pramod Bhasin. Well I am really shocked that you do not want to join Orkut anyways its a sad news to hear. Tell me what do I do with this page. Can you please help me??????Pastor Don M Spiers. Thanks.rencin24 rencin24 10:08, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm not quite sure i understand what you're doing. If it's your own photo, upload it and put the correct licensing tag on it. If you got it from a website, you should check the copyright on that website. If it's your image and you put the copyright on it, i'm pretty sure you can upload it then, too. CattleGirl 10:28, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pastor Don M Spiers

Hey Rencin,

Sorry, but I don't know how I can help out with this. My only advice is that you need to find sources for the article. I tried finding information, but it doesn't seem like there are many articles about him online. Where did you get the info to write the article?

--Onorem 13:08, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I did some revision of the article on Pastor Spiers to make it more like other Wikipedia biographies. Please take a look to see if I made factual mistakes. I would have loved to see that 1933 Future van on the road. I don't know if that will satisfy the deletionists, but it sounds like he had enough notability, based onn his position in the church and his earlier Youth Ministry position with Oral Roberts and David Wilkerson. What did you base the article on? Did he write any books? Were any articles written about him? We look for verifiable sources to establish notability. Take a look at the articles Muhammad, Pope John Paul II, Mother Theresa, Oral Roberts, Billy Sunday and Billy Graham to see that the faith of the article subject is not presented as fact, and how the article stays an objective account of their life and work.Edison 19:23, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Did one more pass to try and put it in a style which might escape deletion. I accidentally posted my previous communication to you on your user page instead of here. Do you want to remove it or shoud I try to? I don't want to do any more damage.Edison 07:59, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

You said " What I got was an article from my friend which he got from a magzine" That magazine article is what we need, so there is a source for some of the Pastor Don material. If it were online, it would be easy. Otherwise, we could create a reference for the statements from it that were in the original article and have no other source. If Pastor Don gave the history of his spiritual life, then the statements like "He felt," "he believed," etc have something to back them up. If otherwise unreferenced, they will probably have to be deleted to allow the article to be kept as Neutral Point of View. Please let me know if you find the article. I got the impression you had an article or a eulogy in front of you when creating the article. Thanks. Edison 22:11, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Writing good articles

See User:Uncle G/On notability#Writing_about_subjects_close_to_you.

The way to write good articles, without running into questions of notability, is to have sources in hand before one starts, to only use sources that are independent of the subject of the article, and to cite those sources in the article from the very first edit. If you want to write a biographical article on a person, have independent biographies of that person, magazine feature articles on that person, news articles about that person, and so forth already to hand. Write what those sources say, and only what they say. Don't do original research and write a biography from firsthand experience or primary research. Find, use, and cite sources. Uncle G 12:07, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi

Please disregard my message regarding vandalizing. It had been sent to an IP address of an anonymous user who was adding his name to a page. I have no idea how you got that message, unless you are using the same computer or the IP address of the the computer used in that case was masked. My apologies. Take care. --Antorjal 13:36, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Must be a masked IP or a system failure then. I have no doubt it wasn't you because I've seen your contributions. I am also guessing you are not "Sourav Bhattacharyya," the guy whose name was being promoted. :) So don't worry about that. Just in case you are curious as to what the page was, take a look at this: [2] Thanks and take care. --Antorjal 13:50, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Yup... I'm from West Bengal but currently settled in the US. I'm guessing from your posts that you are from Kerala. Am I right? I've been to Kerala twice, awesome place man... and btw I LOVE fish too :)). Take care, man. --Antorjal 14:01, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Help needed

You needn't necessarily be a member of a particular wikiproject to work on articles that come within their scope. Signing up is voluntary, and mostly just a formality. To sign up for a particular wikiproject, just add your name to the members list. For example, to add yourself to the India Wikiproject, just add your username to the list of "Active members". You can do the same for the Kerala project.--thunderboltz(Deepu) 13:40, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

I hang around on wikipedia very often, usually in the evenings after five. BTW, if you can write Malayalam, then please consider also contributing to the Malayalam wikipedia. There are very few users there, and we could use all the help.--thunderboltz(Deepu) 14:03, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

I can probably do that, but not now, maybe in a few days, i'm writing some speeches. What userboxes would you like? Oh, and about your page, as mine looked so messy i left it until i had time and then i put them in a table. Once they're in a table they look a lot neater. i put all of my userboxes on your page. I don't know anything about you, so you will have to edit some, like the "This user is from Australia" one. cheers- CattleGirl 07:24, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] K.A. Paul

This Houston-based evangelist is from India. The article on him is pretty negative. Do you have access to any info on his significance in India?Edison 15:57, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

One reference says he lives in a $160,000 house, which would be modest for the Houston area, and the expense of the jet is already criticized in the article. It is generally cosidered best in Wikipedia to work the criticisms into the text of the sections of an article, but I have seen cases where ther is indeed a separate criticism section. Would he be considered a Telugu person, based on the region of his birth? Any info on his year of birth?Edison 12:55, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Lets put it together (proposed revisions)on the Talk page for the K.A. Paul article. Per biographies of living persons policies, we must stick to published comments to avoid lible if there are first-hand accounts which are negative. Thanks!Edison 13:17, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A reply to your reply

Rencin, you wrote on my talk page about the need for sources, claiming you didn't get what many of us meant in saying there aren't sufficient sources for the Pastor Don article. You offered a source; the link did not work and, judging from the name of the website I gather that the source was probably an obituary or some other kind of memorial which really isn't a proper source, at least on its own, for an encyclopedia. You also said that I should go ahead and delete the article if I don't like it; I, nor any other singly editor, do not have that authority, we work through consensus and such on the wikipedia. I understand you're a bit frustrated and I would REALLY like to recommend that you spend an hour or two reading the guidelines on what is and is not appropriate for wikipedia articles and sources, there are a large number of articles linked to under 'help' and other areas of the main page of wikipedia that explain objectivity, proper sources and so on. A lot of your frustrations seemingly stem from not understanding, or having been exposed to, this information; review it and I think you'll gain a better understanding of the wikipedia and, in turn, you'll enjoy editing here more. --The Way 04:04, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

I've had a look at the picture. To find out more about licensing, go here. To find out more about image licensing, this is more what you need. To find the right tag, first, where did you get the image? If it's from the internet, what website is it from? Hello Rencin! You havent added a copyright tag to the picture you uploaded. Since you took the image from a website, it is a copyrighted image. It can be used on wikipedia only under certain fair use conditions. See the criteria listed here, and select the appropriate tag and copy it onto the image's description page like you did for the previous image. Below the tag, add the conditions under which you think this image can be used for fair use (see Image:Mayavi.gif for example). This much, and you are done. [edit] Regarding VFS India, etc

Hey Rencin, thanks for the message on my talkpage. I'm not sure what you want me to do with the articles? Just copy-editing? I edited K.A. Paul because I came across it on recent changes patrol - I'm not really familiar with the topic. Let me know what you want me to do, I'll try to help. riana_dzasta 11:39, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't really know - maybe you can ask for assessment of the articles from the Indian WikiProject, that'll help give the articles a little more attention? I'll do some copyediting and places the articles in more categories, which will give them some more coverage also. Other than that, I'm not sure how to help.
As for your questions - yes, I'm Indian, Bengali in fact. I'm living in Adelaide in Australia. :) riana_dzasta 11:53, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
I was wondering if you could expand VFS India - for example, what are B1/B2, L1,L2, H1,H2, and H3? Also do a search for the term "Visa" to see if you can link any words in your article to relevant topics. A good short article should be structured so that a casual reader can gain the most "foundation knowledge" about the topic as possible, and then, if interested, can use links to navigate to topics which explore different facets in more detail. riana_dzasta 12:08, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello Rencin

Sorry to get back to you late! I sent you an email to your gmail account long time ago. What is your email id?

I was going through the changes in the pentecostal mission article. I am not sure about some of the links. especially the one article about the centenerry celebrations. I think it references some other groups. Or am I wrong.

Please reply. thanks RS CA 07:16, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Article from Hindu.com about pentecostal mission.

Thanks for the reply. The article that you referenced mentions some orater named Roger... We usually don't have other speakers for any of our convention. Also it mentions about music therapy and differnt troupes performing. It is unheard off in the Church.

Also, i have a concern on the article about Churches designed by Pastor AC Thomas. Is this AC Thomas one of our Cheif pastors?RS CA 06:53, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Rencin, I attend the church in San Fransisco. I don't want to publish my name here. I will send you an email to your gmail account. God bless!

[edit] Barnstars

Hey Rencin, if you work long enough and hard enough around here, people will start acknowledging that sooner or later :) By the way, I removed the administrator template from your userpage. It's not really correct to tell people you're an admin when you're not, because it's misleading. Thanks, and take care. riana_dzasta 07:17, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

That's fine. If you want to know more about what admins do, you might want to read this. Thanks, riana_dzasta 07:38, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nick Vujicic

Hey this page looks like it does not need a db tag please remove it. This is still yet to thought of and yet to be subbmitted.thanks.Rencin Matthew

I'm moving this discussion here, I don't remember tagging it, and the history doen't show that I ever did that. John Reaves 07:13, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Nick Vujicic

I think this australian based person can be edited by you more than me. I hope you do something about this too. Nick Vujicic Thanks. rencin24

Seems to be notable enough- I'll see what I can do, I'll edit it now. Thanks for letting me know, it's good to have some article-building ideas... CattleGirl talk | e@ | review me! 08:09, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Once again, thanks for this, I've been re-writing it and there are no AFD votes in the discussion so far. I found some more external links and put them on the page. CattleGirl talk | e@ | review me! 08:58, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Once again I really thank you for all that you did "C"Girl. I really feel better now. I think I really could do something for the help anyways. Here we go.Never imagined this. You're welcome, Rencin24! I'm sorry you feel bad about leaving, however keep in mind that, as Deepujoseph said below this message that you're never really gone, you're a part of it. And I know we'll still see you around, even if not as often, and making great contributions as well!
By the colour code, do you mean the background? Anyway, I'll put it into a subpage for you- once again, always happy to help- CattleGirl talk | e@ | review me! 02:17, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Farewell

Hey all, Its really a great joy for me to be a part of you all and to work with you all. Well I really do not know what to say. I was almost in tears when I got to know this. A big thanks to all of my friends. I am gonna miss you. I really hope you go and see.rencin24

Hello again! It's a shame that you won't be editing as much as you used to, however, good luck for the future! Thanks for the mention on your page, I'll always be happy to help you if you need it. I'm sure I'll still see you around Wikipedia- good luck and happy editing! CattleGirl talk | e@ | review me! 08:55, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Farewell

I echo the sentiments CattleGirl earlier expressed. I feel humbled and sad by my mention on your userpage. The departure of good wikipedians is something I really feel sad about. Remember, no one can actually leave wikipedia, 'coz once you are in it, you are a part of it. All the best with your work. Do drop in whenever you have time. [edit] Populating blank talk pages

Hi, I came here from the article on Nick Vujicic. The talk page as you created it from scratch, is entirely full of templates which serve only to hide any current discussion - ie you can't see if anything's going on without going to the talk page and scrolling down...

I think it is probably best to leave the archive template off a talk page until someone needs to archive it! Any editor who knows enough to archive a talk page will make sure a link to the archive ends up on the talk page.

Also: Signs of the Times article states the guy lives in Brisbane - why did you mark it as project Sydney? (just curious on the last one... )Garrie 00:43, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:TPMlogo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:TPMlogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
