Renier J. Murillo

Renier J. Murillo was born on August 17, 1984 in Miami, Florida. In 1990 his family moved to the small town of Homestead, south of Miami. As a child, he was exposed to many types of films including Disney musicals, supernatural thrillers, slapstick comedies, and family dramas. The first film he ever saw was "Mary Poppins". He was inspired to become a filmmaker. Renier attended South Dade Senior High. At South Dade, he discovered his love for theatre. He joined Thespian Troupe 3637, did several plays, and competed in many theatre events. High school credits include "Romeo & Juliet" and "Our Town." Currently, Renier is studying at Florida International University, working towards a BFA in Theatre Performance. Credits include FIU productions of "Cabaret," "Dracula," "Taming of the Shrew," "Tartuffe," and "Balm in Gilead." His Film and TV credits include "Living Dead Lock Up," "Pathways," the pilot for the Showtime series "Dexter," and a series of student panel discussions for WLRN.
