Rene Kirby

Rene Kirby (born February 27, 1955) is an American film and television actor who hails from Burlington, Vermont. He is perhaps best known for his performance in the Farrelly Brothers' film Shallow Hal. In this film he plays the role of Walt, a man who, despite having spina bifida, leads a very full and productive life. Much like the character he plays, Kirby was also born with this condition and has never allowed his disability to prevent him from accomplishing the goals he set for himself.
