Removable media
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Removable media refers to computer storage devices which are not fixed inside a computer. These devices can be usually transfered easily from computer to computer and use external interfaces such as USB and FireWire, and do not use internal interfaces such as ATA and SATA.
[edit] Security
As removable media is usually very small, encryption is commonly used to protect the data in case the media is lost or stolen.
