Relevio
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Relevio is a game played by two teams within designated boundaries. Often played in forests or urban areas, one team is designated the hiding team, whose goal is to hide from and evade the seeking team. When a member of the seeking team finds and tags a member of the hiding team, the member of the hiding team is sent to jail, an area guarded by a member of the seeking team. When all members of the hiding team are caught, the games ends and the seeking team wins. If the seeking team gives up, however, the game ends with the hiding team as the winners.
When the game begins, the hiding team hides while the seeking team counts to a number agreed upon both teams, large enough to give the hiding team sufficient time to conceal themselves. The idea here is that the hiding team gets enough time to hide, so groups can choose to have the seeking team walk around the block or do other such time consuming activities. For a member of the hiding team to be captured, a member of the seeking team must tag him, i.e. lay a hand upon the members body. The hider must then go to the seeking team's jail, where he must remain until a member of his own teams tags him, freeing him from the jail.
Both Manhunt and Capture the Flag are closely related to relevio.
