Relative location
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Relative location is the place where something is in comparison to something else. A good example of relative location is if you were to give directions to somebody and you used terms such as "it is across the street from the market" or "it is to the left of the gas station.",or "it is very close to a certain city."
Relative location can also be on a larger scale. A good example of this would be that Lake Maracaibo is in the northern part of South America.
Relative location is the polar opposite of absolute location, which is the exact spot on earth where something is.
