I appreciate the map but I have problems reading it because it only shows the percentage of the single largest religion of that state i.e. you can't tell of there is a close second or third.
I wonder if someone who is good at Flash (or similar) could create a map where you clicked on, let's say, "Catholic" and it gave the Catholic percentage for all the states. Then clicked on "non religious" and it switched to that percentage. Then, "Baptist" or "Islam" etc etc. It would be pretty useful. Thanks! --Calan 03:44, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
I used the same report to create a new map. It is not flash but it does utilize the fact that Red, Green, & Blue are all separate parts of a color. This may be a little more useful than listing the plural religion. It's posted in the "Religion in the United States" article.
Another way to use simple colors would be to tag states with each denomination of > ~10% the population existing in the state. Crayton 23:37, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
I was under the impression the USA has 50 states. FancyPants
[edit] Blue on blue
As far as I know, I am not at all color-blind. I can just tell <30% Methodist blue from <30% Catholic blue when it is in the legend - but in the map I cannot. Color & brightness judgements are affected by surrounding colors and shades. Can we have green or yellow or brown or something? --JimWae 05:43, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
