Reinventing Axl Rose is Against Me!'s first full length album. It was released on No Idea Records, fronted by band member Tom Gabel. This is the first Against Me! release with a full band, including electric guitar and a full drum kit. The album's cryptic title appears to be in reference to the growing culture of corporate rock, and more specifically the "comeback" concerts cancelled that year (2001) by Guns N' Roses lead singer, Axl Rose. The album contains many songs that were previously unreleased, such as "The Politics of Starving", and several old fan favorites, such as "Walking Is Still Honest" and "Jordan's First Choice". The album's title track is a stirring anthem of DIY Anarcho-punk values and dreams. "I Still Love You Julie" first appeared on Crime As Forgiven By. "Walking is Still Honest" first appeared on the Against Me! EP. "Pints of Guinness Make You Strong", "Those Anarcho Punks are Mysterious...", "Jordan's First Choice" and "Reinventing Axl Rose" first appeared on The Acoustic EP.
